Map
What kind of map do we want?
Section 1
A) Huge map of planet
B) Regular map planet
Section 2
A) Customize Random Map
B) Have a CMN generate a map based on:
C) Huge planet
- large planet
- standard planet
- small planet
- tiny planet
- 30-50% ocean
- 50-70% ocean
- 70-90% ocean
- Strong erosive forces
- weak erosive forces
- average erosive forces
- abundant native life
- average native life
- rare native life
- sparse cloud cover
- average could cover
- dense cloud cover
Section 3
A) random map
B) Have a CMN make a fair map based on his judgement
this may look confusing, so i'll explain it. First of all: Only vote in 1 section. If you want to use the planet map, only vote in section 1. if you want to generate a map, vote in section 2 (you also have to choose your parameters). if you want the map to be a surprise, vote in section 3.
Example: you want a customized large map with average clouds, erosion and native life. you skip section 1, and vote in section 2:
A) Customize random map
skip B) as it does not apply
c) - large map
- average clouds
- average erosion
- average native life
etc.
skip section 3)
there, clear as mud 3 days.

Any map with rare native. Let's keep the random elements down as much as we can.

Standard Planet, 50-70% ocean, average everything except dense cloud cover, cause it gives nice high scores.

*nod nod* Yes let a good CMN do it, because after playing with th terrain generator Monday, it's really hard to get some decent ocean shelves for us poor Pirates
Stupid terrain generator....where's the landmass type option ??

All you folks who vote CMN... not that I disagree, but where is such a critter found? A fair one at that?

I voted Section 2 B: Have a CMN make a map based on the following:
*Standard planet, though large will do fine as well. I'd like us to actually meet each other on the map...
*50-70% ocean. Let's give the Pirates some breathing room.
*Weak erosive forces. Nice rainy slopes and rocky highlands.
*Average native life. No particular reason.
*Dense cloud cover. Rainy tiles!

I really don't want a huge map, it would be boring, being ages until we meet people, and gives massive advantage to builder factions. It's like having either loads of water or very little would give advantages/disadvantages to the pirates. In order to have fairness, we need either a standard, or possibly large (at a pinch) map.

I agree with Drogue... I voted either large or huge just for the fact that builder factions would want the size, but military wouldn't.
Googlie is a great CMN and I think approaching him to do the map soon might be a good idea.

Well I voted "large map of the planet", but I will be fine with a CMN generated map.
So count my vote as 3B if planet map fails

Good idea. Not knowing is most realistic Can't wait now. Can we start team signup, since we know the 4 factions (or at least, the AI poll is done based on those 4 factions)

Can't we start sign-ups here first, just to get an idea who is going for which. I would want to know who is in each before I choose, as I'm still a little undecided. I don't want to be with a bunch of people who I disagree though, that would suck.

That would be clear (and yes, I'm pretty sure it was intended, but I thought I'd be a smart-ass )

Poor TKG... tired maybe? Or just overly excited about the next game?

ok, so we have this saying our CMN is supposed to make a "fair" map...should we maybe decide the size, at least?

No, I think let the CMN decide everything. If we don't know the size, as we wouldn't with a real planet (although kight have an idea, so maybe give CMN some parameters) we don't know how near we are to anyone else. Could be more fun.
Personally I would say let the CMN decide, but don't pick either extremes.

I dare say somwone ought to have a thrown a glance out of the window as we approached Chiron. We do too have an idea about the planet size.

Yes, an idea, which I said. Thus we can narrow it down a bit. But we won't know exactly what size. That is why I say let CMN decide, but exclude the extremes, of give the CMN a choice of 2 or 3.
