Exfoliating, moisturizer, and other gay stuff
So now that I'm out I need to look it. So I need to get better skin.
The problem is I, like most other guys in this world, don't have a clue how to do it.
Some people have told me a good place to start is to exfoliate the skin, or to unclog pores, using something like an Apricot Scrub. If you buy the cheap stuff, where you can actually see chunks of apricot, this is actually bad for your skin! So beware.
I'm also looking at moisturizers, and someone also mentioned something called "toner" which I have no clue what it is.
What else can/should I do?
Also, bar-soap is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD for the face!
So share your wisdom, stories, and other advice or simply point and laugh at those of us who want to have healthier skin.
Believe it or not, I posted this entire thread without lisping once or flapping my wrist!

I think I'm going to ditch the electric razor for a Mach 3.
Anyone here use a Mach 3?

Well, the problem is when you're in the closet and you're suddenly concerned about things like exfoliating and toner and moisturizer, you're concerned that people might think you're gay.
And when you're in the closet, this is a BadThing TM.
So now that I don't need to worry about it anymore, I can actually care about it.

If you get ingrowns stay with a single blade, the mach 3 will make them worse.
But if you never get ingrowns the Mach 3 is the best blade on the market.

Is there any real difference between shaving gels, or is the standard Gillette stuff fine?
I see some of them have vitamins and a bunch of stuff, but do they actually do anything?

I use Mach 3. Of course, before that I only used an electric shaver that made me look like I had shaved sometime last week, but I'm glad I actually picked a good one this time.
Not sure about washing your face though. You mean water by itself isn't enough?

I like Dove bar soap, and so does Consumer Reports.
I've given up on shaving cremes and gels -- shave during a hot shower, it'll be fine.

i'll add to the "mach 3 is the best blade on the market" crowd. It undoubtedly is the best blade on the market. I'm also with the "shave in the shower" crowd. my face is usually far less irritated when i do so.
as far as that other stuff goes, i've used it before, and it does make your face look (and feel) pretty good, but i'm usually too lazy to use it regularly, or to buy it often.

connorkimbro!
Well Asher, here's what I use.
Nivea for Men exfoliating facial scrub. It's kind of uncomfortable, but after your done, it feels refreshing.
Neutrogina (sp?) face soap. I have oily skin so this helps keep my skin in check from breakouts.
pHisoderm bath wash. Using bath wash doesn't leave that film on your skin like a normal bar of soap leaves.
I also use the Mach 3 turbo. When I shave with it, I don't get razor rash and normally don't break out from the hairs. This is a mofo good razor to get.
For shaving cream, I use Neutrogina for men anti-razor blahblah stuff. It smells kinda funky, but does the job.
Aftershave, I use Neutrogina for men anti-razor blahblah. Both of these have blue labels and grey covers.
Hope this helps.

Hmm...
I use Mach 3 which strikes me as very good. I use a gilette gel and a gilette after shave.
I've also attempted some cheap skin care products, but I was to lazy to use them even every other day, plus they were still expensive (though cheap in quality).

I only use Mach3 for the under-carriage.
For my face, I use one of those Norelco "goo" electric shavers. Very nice. As for washing the face... Neutregena Deep Clean works nice. It's a big yellow tube. Get the one with Salycilic Acid. Night and day, use it, and you will have beautiful skin like me.

Mach 3 I use... it does well.. and the gel...
Asher, you know if you go out in the snow you can actually get a tan... and even sunburn. It happened to me when I was up in Quebec where one of my relatives happens to live.

My skin doesn't tan, it only burns. It's the same for my dad, and my brother.
I lived in California for four years, I know this the hard way.

Sorry to hear that man..
I guess it is just because I am a latin guy... I can sit out in the sun for a long time and just get tanned.
