My name means Victory of the People.
I knew a guy in high school whose name was "Eric Shin".
No foolin'. Every time at school assemblies when he won something, the whole school would yell out his name.

Obviously.
To both questions.

Imagine, i name my child "Galley". DO you have something against?
Or, imagine: i imigrate to USA and ask to write "Muxec" as first name. Is it wrong.

I don't care.
If your parents are crazy enough to give you an unacceptable name, your name is one of the less important problems you have to deal with anyway.

Here in Germany you also aren´t allowed to give your Child every name you want.
You´ve got many frredoms to name your child, but if the name you choose is too strange, the authorities can prohibit it and force you to choose a more appropriate name.

I think it's the same in France, IIRC, but I'm not sure.
Choosing a first name for your kids is a big deal. Even if they don't like the name, chances are they'll keep it because it will be one of the core elements of their identities (especially if it is 'special'). People shouldn't be completely free to choose any crap.

Less important? How would you life be, during Elementary school time, if you name was "Gay Lover" (Not that I have anything about Gays, but during that time, most children hates gays...)

Compared to the hell you must live in at home because your parents are lunatics who give you such an idiot name, I think the problems you would face on school would be small.
In easy words: "You parents must be crazy thus your name is not the biggest problem you have to deal with"

or their sons... I think a lot of blacks make up names so as to avoid the "slave" names, but instead that end up with some really strage renditions of common names. It is spelt Eric, but it's pronounced Eee'rye'ceee?
My favorite how Terrel Owens' name always gets mispronounced. LaDamian Tomlonson, what kind of name is LaDamian?
Then again what kind of name is John?

Whatever happened to ppl having 4 names? I know that in my grandpas day that everyone had two middle names. Then, it stopped.
Why does anyone have anything more than 2? Why only 2? I would like 8.

I guess they don't have that many names anymore, since there's not even enough room in normal papers (where to sign your name) to have room for 1 name + lastname

It's true though. "Criminal" was actually the name of some guy at a local McD joint, and it was right on his name tag. I almost fell over when I saw it. My guess would be these people didn't know English and some nice people played practical jokes on them.
These are the most extreme examples. Lots of people have names such as "Pinky," "Winky," "Queenie," etc. around here.

Well I got a given name, a family name, a whole bunch of initials, a name in Chinese (two characters), and some other "name" (not a pseudonym, a nickname, or a handle) in Chinese.
Chinese persons, mostly men, used to have two given names. One is the formal name, one is a name used in deferrance or out of politeness.

There are over 8000 people in Sweden named Adolf. A hundred years ago it was one of the top ten names to give to newborn children... It's been the name of several kings as well.
