Crikey,
How did you discover this. Novoxz N hasn't posted anywhere, yet he/she simply joined all three of you.
In my view this makes the case for a central registry, so we can cross check.
To the question as to what to do. well if he/she is genuine they can still only be in one faction.
The pirates have a similar case. However I don't know how to de-authorise.

I am intrigued as how all three of you in a short space of time managed to authorise a complete noobie who hadn't even posted.
Is this person authorised in all three factions, or are you guys playing a joke.

I have e-mailedf and PM'd Novoxz N asking him to select one of the three factions as his home, and to click the "leave" for the other 2. Of course, I don't believe that this bars him from re0entering at any time.
On the offchance that he is a planted spy in 2 factions by the third, I have edited out the passwords from the faction files.
'Course the discussions can still be followed in the threads and the screensaves studied, esp as we can't hang attachments to the sub-threads (where we could password protect the zip files)
What a mess

There is. Just click on the "civ groups" name in the string at the top right of this page (alongside the Apolyton Logo). You can then click on any faction and see the membership list (as well as the date joined Apolyton and the # posts to date)
Interestingly he doesn't appear in the master list, just in the 3 factions' lists

I'm disappointed TPR... both games are excellent, and different enough IMO that it would be like comparing to
sausages to apples.
I hope you have fun here anyway. You would have loved the real DG that was played before this version was set up.

Yeah, so many games going I can't keep track anymore.
Well, all those I've been into has been quite fun, in different ways.
The roleplay part is often the best IMO.
NB: I still have my opinion of the software quality concerning CIV3.

I thought he was someone else I checked him up on the members list, and it showed 3 of the civ group icons next to his name. That got me worried.

You can't IIRC. We need the ability to ban IMHO. The only way to remove things like this.

I believe - from the private forums as well as this thread - that only the CC has authorized him, so if this is the case I'd suggest that neither the Hive nor the PUT do this.
This will limit any fallout as access to the other two faction forums would thus be effectively denied.

Then it does not matter, since he has only joined one forum?

But his/her allegiances may not lie with that faction. There's nothing that prevents him/her from relaying information from that one forum to others.

That is a faction registry not a central registry. Secondly It shows who has applied, it doesn't actually indicate who is an authorised member.
A central registry (with faction membership) gives everyone an overview.

Oh bugger. Is he authorized in all three? Or do you show up on the list for just requesting autorization? I know we've had no discussion at least.

I don't understand. How could he get in if he was not authorized? I thought the case was all three authorized him without checking if he was already in another team.

If it had not being for the vigilance of the CC (I assume), this person might well have joined all three of these factions with ease. Scarey

Now, this is complicated stuff...
As long as it can be sorted out, we should be happy I guess.

At least the end of this, we are more vigilant of silent members. Not that the Hive was paranoid to begin with.

Only the CC authorized him without checking. The Hive and PUT did not and will not authorize him.

I thought he was someone else, who I had invited to join already
Have the Hive and PUT authorised him? Could Voltaire and Archaic post saying if they did or not? If not we have no problem (unless he's a DL ) if they did then we have a major problem.

I have joined the game but have not yet joined a team. It appears the Hive is bigger already so I am wondering which of the others most need another member? I believe that some of you should know me from around the board and know that I have been reliably around for a few years now --

well the Hive likes to have EVERYONE so I am not particularly honored at their desire to add me to work on the collective good.
Perhaps I should check out the pirate team ( although I am not great with those buccaneers)

and as an Albertan. you KNOW that we frown on leftist policies out here -- Since I do know that the HIve has the most members, I would choose to join a group with lesser numbers
Seriously, which thread gives the current membership of each group. There are so many threads its hard to know where to start . . .
Edit-- I see a listing at the beginning of this thread but it shows the University with the most people and I know I have seen postings talking about the size of the Hive . . . even as proposal to limit their size to influence people to join other teams.
