We used to play with a guy from the US called Milo who could only play at night when his wife was asleep. He'd play through till breakfast. He said he was a veteran and had a sleep disorder.
When his wife started waking up there'd be panic.

I'm not a big fan of ai bribing myself. If it came to a vote I'm not sure which way I would have voted. makeo and finbar are the main supporters of it.
The more salient point is that whenever deity plays this is the kind of meaningless nitpicking and petty fogging point scoring nonsense that results. I have a much more enjoyable and harmonious evening when he doesn't play. Like finbar, I'm getting very bored with this crap.

I don't understand you Horsie. You are a deity level troller attempting to cause all sorts of mischief for years now but when we want to have an intelligent debate about Oz Rules you get way serious and pack your bat and ball and head off home!
And yet you are the one that's made the personal insults; calling me a cheat, a drunk a looney....
I've maintained my composure in the debate and had a bit if fun too. At what point do YOU decide that enough enough?
I know, when you are beaten and can't accept the consensus
And despite all the discussion, and the views of the Australians involved, Horse is still saying Oz Rules doesn't exist or isn't a relevant idea and he's going to go ahead and host games in his usual way. And that it will be more fun without me!
Now seriously... I can't work the Horse out

OK, so you are happy to use Oz Rules as a guideline for settling disputes and get on with some fun play?

Maybe I can see the point about rules providing a basis for argument, but now that they are done they should provide more good than harm. At least everyone will know what the others will do in a situation. After all, one player not bribing the AI when others maybe are ruins the game, and needlessly, since I have no doubt it was just different views rather than someone trying anything to get an edge.

No need to get defensive Horse. Some cynical people might think it's because you are shovelling to get yourself out of the rather large hole you dug with only a little help.
I am not cynical btw.

One topic not covered thus far is helping the game host, which I usually am. Some players, the majority, help the host but others don't. I'm very appreciative of the help I get from players when things go wrong. A little patience and cooperation and good humour goes a long way. Things like spamming the host on icq during set up is a major peeve, as is second guessing the host on settings or players or rules. You wanna coordinate things? fine, you host it.
I can't stand players who snipe and b*tch at the host during set up, or query everything that happens in the game or worst of all start rabble rousing in the middle of the game. Its probably my biggest ettiquette beef. Ruins the game for everyone.
Most combinations of players I've hosted never have a problem. Difficulties always arise but they get settled quickly in a friendly cooperative way. Add one self important I'm-always-right arsehole to the mix and, well, the less said the better.
