What should the front line cities be producing win41/sum 42?
During winter we will have the oppurtunity to take back a few cities but remember with summmer 42 the german Airforce will be back to do some damage, what should the frontline cities have as a garison by default?

We should be carful not to make blanket generalizations when it come to city production. I think that this sort of thing is very case specific. We should endevour to maintain, and increase our flexibility. We cannot allow this to limit our options.

we shouldn't reconquer any cities,
what we have to do is to kill as many german units as possible and make sure our front line is strong enough
as EZRhino I think that we don´t have to make generalizations but AA battery and KV-1 is what we need

If you want something to really hold it needs at least 2 KV-1's and 2 -AA's. I dont see that as a blanket statement really its more like a minimum requirement.

if we're going to be building kv-1's and AA guns, may I suggest producing the Kv-1's in the begining months of winter and the AA guns at the end of winter? that way we won't have AA guns sitting around with nothing to shoot at while our tanks are outnumbered on the battlefield.

I think we should build a mine field in the square between Narva and Leningrad. Hopefully the Karl will be dead by winter but if it is not, if it is hiding inside Narva, then it will be near impossible to recapture.
Edit: whats the lastest count on the number of surviving T-28s?

Sounds like a good plan, but we need to reinforce the North first.
I like the idea for the AA guns built towards the end of winter, since the bombers cannot fly during the winter.
What about Kiev? How is Kiev holding?

it has 5 AA battery and 1 KV-1 inside the city
a few more units are left,
I think that the city has around 12-13 units, but I don´t think we'll be able to hold the city until winter

Darn. Too bad we can't stuff Kiev with KV-1's. That would really hamper the Krauts.

At what difficulty are you playing? I know that it takes me at least 4 AA batteries to keep a city save from devestating air raids, plus a LOT of troops to keep it save from capture.

Ditto
BTW Anzac what gives with the Marshalls avatar?
Isnt that supposed to be reserved for, well me?
Or are you planning a coup? You know I have sent people to the Gulag for less. And depending upon the upcoming political struggle I could be looking for a job.......
Just a friendly nopte of advice.

2 KV-1s and 2 AAs is a good starting point.
However - the Germans will throw a lot of tanks at Rostov, so we will want at least a half dozen KV-1s there, and a similar number of AA. More KV-1s is better in key cities like that.
And I'd recommend building a few Shturmoviks once we have the tech. They're great for killing German units left out in the open, once summer comes. Katyusha and T-34s have the risk of not being able to retreat to a city if damaged... that's not a problem with attack planes.

Agreed, Rostov and Perikop are the cities that will need the most humugus garrisons if we want to hold them, with loads of KV-1s, AAs and some artillery for taking out stacks of units just outside the city.

When I played last, the Germans threw literally dozens and dozens of tanks at Rostov in October '42. They were lined up along the north shore of the sea of (Azov ?). Cruisers and Shturmoviks did a great job of taking out many stacked German units before they got close enough to attack Rostov. And in Rostov, I had at least 10 KV's, plus 4 or 5 AA, plus 4 or 5 LA-5's... and it was still a close call!

Yes, when I play I always put everything in there what I can spare. I'm playing a RF right now, and I have in both cities more then 40 units, because the Germans attack with enormous amounts of troops. I normally prepare as many artilleries and Katyushka's as possible to take out the pontoon bridge as soon as possible (altough this costs a LOT of these units), so that they can't keep huge stacks of units at the gates of Stalingrad without me being able to do something (together with the pontoon bridge, it cost him 40 units, against 15 or so from me which I find a good trade for a safe Stalingrad)

No you are using the marshall one from the top.
I would prefer that the front commanders use the brown general a few spaces down.
You guys are "in the feild" anyway and should use that uniform.
And Im not the only one irritated by this. I talked to H Tower about it last night.
So the decision is yours but impersonating the Marshall is a Gulag bound offense!

Yes I would appreciate that.

They are similar enough for me. And I would prefer our Front Commanders where the brown uniform.
I want to be the ONLY one with that uniform.
(And think about it the Marshall whether me or someone else should get a distinct avatar) Its one of the few benefits you get from a thankless job that certainly isn't as fun as a front commander!)
Enough said and case closed on this OK? And thanks again for changing ANZAC.
