Or better yet, spend all your money on wallpapering your house with pink velvet, buying large erotic statues and putting them in your kitchen, getting 7 large vibrating chairs and 4 widescreen TVs for your lounge, buying an espresso machine and drinking so much of it that you start running around your house at twice the speed of light before urinating on yourself in the garden and missing your car pool to work.
After that, you need hardly bother playing the game at all.

No, you won't like it. I think there are a few things you will find amusing, but the game itself, I doubt it will keep you interested long enough, because the same principles from the original are still there and haven't changed much. What has changed the most is the look and feel, and of course there is more depth to practically everything.
Going out down town is not so great because the loading times can be quite long, especially since you have to load twice (once for the map, and twice for the destination after selecting where you wan to go).
But the game is a lot more deeper than the first. Sims 1 is a test-game compared to Sims 2. Sims 2 seems to be a truly complete version of what this type of game is about.
Yesterday I finally WooHoo'd with the postwoman, now I am going to WooHoo with the Pizzawoman. I've tried with the maid, but it won't work.

I can't keep track on who one of my girls have 'woohoo'd, but those I'm sure about is the:
The girl who comes with the bills
The maid
Her wife ( )
about 2-3 of her other friends
The maid was the one who did it in public

A review of the knock-off version of the Sims.

For some reason, Spikie's post reminded me of this.

I'm actually reviewing my opinion of the Sims. Not only are there Sunday Gamers as I thought but there are also a lot of sexually frustrated teenagers who live their sex lives through their Sims.
Maybe it explains part of the high sales.

WTF? I created a very appropriate Sim rendition of myself (I was flabbergasted to find out he ended up afraid of parties, just like me ), and bought an empty lot so I could start building a house. But I click on the foundation icon in the selection, and try dragging it on the empty lot, but nothing happens! I can plop down objects, but I can't make foundations, floors or walls. The mouse click doesn't seem to register when clicking the save icon, either, I'm forced to save by clicking quit.
Am I missing something?

I have 18 grand.
Brains... brraaaaiiiiiins....
The instruction manual has nothing. I did the tutorial and did exactly what it said, but I still can't do anything. A vicious bug maybe?
This is the localised version with several languages, btw. (Installed it in English not in Finnish though, the one who'll be playing it the most wanted it that way)
Oh well, I put a bed, a bookcase, a wardrobe, a few tables, a telly anda recliner on bare earth. All went well until my Sim had to wet himself and couldn't wash up. I even managed to eat, by ordering pizza.
Edit: Oh, apparently the cd crack I've used might be to blame. And I was hoping we could just pack all the four CDs in a dark spot so that they won't disappear like last time. Never mind the fact that I'll have to wipe out a perfectly legal program (CloneCD) for the darn thing to work in the first place, since the crack doesn't work.

What's the Maxis beef with CloneCD anyway? Just copy-overprotection? Of course, being a Mac-user, I have no idea what CloneCD even is...

Just as an FYI, you'll have to wait if you want to play sans-CD. The current no-cd patch has disabled build mode.

why use a no-cd crack? If you're using clonecd images (oh, the irony) you can mount it with a cd emulator and it runs with no problem. (oh, double irony)

Then I'd have to reinstall the whole thing. Meh. For once I didn't save the original exe.

I don't use a no-cd crack, since it (for once) worked by simply emulating it

The images I made wouldn't work with emulators ("Insert correct disk"). I downloaded the newest version of Qnrzba Gbbyf and they work now, though.
There is the matter of hard drive space. The game is now taking six gigs in total, three of which I could have better use for. Oh well, I should be happy, at least I finally have a viable backup to use.

Hmm, I'm not sure if the game would accept burned disks. The program I mentioned can simulate the copy protection scheme used on the disks, but I suppose some program like Nypbuby 120% should be able to burn them so that the scheme is added to the disk.

I doubt it'll be possible to burn it to a disk and still work...
