Quite an... impressive... acrobatic stunt... Somehow I think he won't make it into the net.

Isn't he a little ... old?
I noted before and I want to say again: it looks like this Sims 2 deal is much more ... how should I say... love-oriented? We see lots of kissing, hugging and uh... this. Not that I mind, but I think it won't do this game any good.
EDIT: Oh wait, are they just dancing? Didn't see the way they held hands before...

Sigh... That's the problem I have with 3D games... They still can't make round things round...

Sex sells. Wether it's a bigger part or not, that's what is going to be in half the promo screen shots.

That sucks. Next thing you'll see sex in like Tetri... oh wait.
I don't know. I thought the game had such a wide appeal because it didn't have sex and violence in it. Of course that's also the reason that people who normally play games found it boring. From what I see in the promotion screens, they are aiming back towards the niche, hard-core players. That will inevitably hurt sales, I think.

They're aiming it towards teenagers and the sexualy deprived, which is what their customer base has always been, I think.

Well, I don't agree with that. That is, indeed, the customer base for most games. But The Sims owed its huge success exactly to the fact that the customer base for it was different. The teenagers and the sexually deprived found it boring. It appealed to a wholly different audience. A much broader audience, might I add, which is exactly why it was the biggest-selling game ever. Which is also why I've been trying to say that it is a mistake for them to revert back to the "regular" gamers and risk loosing their big fan-base.

The game revolves around character interaction, so the new advertisements emphasize character interaction, particularly that which has improved since the original Sims. These advertisement probably will appeal to the majority of their original fan-base.

They know who they're making the game for. It'll probably be as simple as deleting a certain file.

I can just see it now:
Replace the file "pixel_mask.tga" with a 1x1 pixel transparent graphic.

And the cd includes a sample 1x1 pixel transparent graphic for "demonstration purposes only".

All the screenies seem to say:
-You can build doors and windows on diagonal walls
-Houses can be built on multilevel terraiin
-The graphics are nicer
-There's more steamy interaction now
-(maybe?)you can play the Sims through work (the uniformed soldiers in the restroom scene)
-(maybe?)they've put in cars (neighborhood)
-nice new neighborhoods design
-(maybe?)it hooks in somehow with SC4K
-Weddings, childbirth are now more complex than in original Sims
-NPCs like the police are involved more.
Who knows? Let's just hope Maxis doesn't turn this into another expansionfest.

I just hope they do something against the problem they showed up in Hot Date, where you could go with the taxi downtown, spend a couple days there, then go home, while the clock at home haven't changed at all.
Would be more interesting IF I choses someone to go out for the night, that person wont be back home before night, while when I'm done downtown I go back in time to when this person left home, so I can screw up the other persons lifes (Of those who was home the whole night)

Yep, they do... I have (or had.. not sure if I still got it) a small video where you see the aging of a family... very funny...
I think it's also avaliable on the official The Sims 2 site

One should really visit the official site. It has lots of information, features and such. BTW, mrmichell: one can not play the Sims through work, that has been stated several times before.

Oh, well, you see, I'm not interested enough to actually go to their official website. Just enough to view these screenies threads.

Here's better quality versions, of pictures posted short time ago...
Oh, and one question about this picture:
How come the 3 visible sims all got military uniform, while the one in the toilet stall (?) don't even have boots/socks on?
Looks pretty strange/funny I think
And here's a new picture:

Good observed, ADG! Maybe he has undergone some kind of "welcome-to-the-military" thing?
