I just don't want to get my hopes up...
And what did he chose for the Sims to do actually? Did the malesim just ask the femalesim if he was allowed to paint her, then she just automaticly sat in a sofa infront of the painting?

Is anyone here looking forward to this game?
And can you list the reasons why? As never having played any of the Sim games i'm interested in any answers

Here's my list on why I'm looking forward to this game:
1) It's a Sim-game
2) I'm interested in doing a forum-game, where I 'borrow' the graphics from this game
3) I'm thinking about another useage for another forum for this
4) Locking 8 girls into a house without any doors can be interesting

I'm interested 'cause I have no social life and enjoy experimenting with one through the computer.

I'm interested because the wife likes the original and it'll be a reason for me to get a new computer since I know my current one won't run something with the kind of graphics I'm seeing in these screenshots.

Thanks for the reasons, i might think about getting it at some point, my girlfriend liked the Creatures games and has expressed interest in the Sims - i've been trying to put it off for a while.
Once i got my new pc i wont have an excuse any more..... and maybe i'm a little curious too

Not much of a surprise - they made heaps of revenue from the first's many expansion packs. Like they would give that up.

Yeah, the Sims is commerce in its worst shape. The guys who make that game somehow don't give me the impression of people who enjoy what they do and try to provide their gamers with the best possible experience - though surely enough they work on their game hard. But they're more interested in getting money... and they know that there are some addicts to the game who'll be buying any expansion, whatever it contains.

No reason to support anyone who thinks that the game's good because even pirates get it .

I'd rather just buy it, and avoid any problems that might arise from pirating it.
I think there wil be expansions, b/c that is the nature of the game, but There won't really be anything new. They've gone as far as magic, the only things that they really have left, are religion, drugs, getting sick, the handicapped, and more involved sex.

Why would they? Blue is actually proven to relax people, and thatreally, is all that would work, with the general attitude of the game.

During a conference call announcing its Q4 2003 earnings, Electronic Arts executives revealed that two of the publisher's most anticipated PC games, The Sims 2 and Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, have been delayed. According to EA chief financial officer Warren Jenson, both games will not be out until the company's "fiscal year 2005, not until the second or third quarter." Seeing how calendar Q4 2003 was EA's financial third quarter of 2004, in layman's terms, the announcement means that neither game will hit the market until calendar July 2004...at the earliest.

He's already planning ways to free up his Sunday afternoons so he can play this.
I don't want to force my Sims to eat, sleep, learn and go to the bathroom according to a strict schedule! Working in a kindergarten provides me with more than enough of the same thing, only this time I can't lock them in a room and starve them until they die in a pool of their own vomit and excrement whenever they get too annoying!*
* At least, not unless I go and teach in China

Apparently they released a " Bodyshop" that allows you to make sims for the game. It's a 105mb download, though.

The closest thing I could get to a self portrait with it:
(between my distorted sense of reality and the limited program, it probably isn't very accurate)

Let us know if it was worth downloading.
I guess this means that the game will be released fairly soon then.
