Btw, there's a small video on my website, though the upload speed is low, it might be a good idea to use Download Accelerator Plus, or some other download management tool (At some point tonight I'll have to delete it from the server though), but it'll be online again tomorow (If I don't remember to put it online, please post a remember to me )
It's about 60 MB

I never used it in SC2k, because it looked ugly, but this time I might use it...

How does SC4 compare to SC3?
SC2 was a lot of fun, but SC3 just bored me. As a result, I never even looked at SC4.

It's really good fun, but it has IMO some (weird/annoying) issues.
For example to keep any '$' around (poor people/labour) , you have to deny just about anything to them..IE no school/hospital etc... which is plain stupid.

BTW that '7trumpet' pathfinding mod is very impressive indeed

Very nice stuff.
Properly Implemented 4-lane roads, surface highways, T-highway intersections, and especially one way streets are things I've wanted for a long time... ever since SC2k. After all, one can find those things in just about every large city in the world...

I've heard someone mentioning there would also be a one-way street in the game, but I haven't seen anything official about this, so I doubt it'll be in...

I guess I missed that one... I quickly checked the pages again (Before last post), but couldn't find it mentioned anywhere
I guess it's time to buy a new memory card for my brain

There's a nice fan-made review (After visiting Maxis) here:

There's some new screenshots there as well...

Cool stuff, thanks ADG.
One thing I am wondering after reading this: I haven't been following RH at all, but... U-Drive-It? As I started reading that I had to go back to the top of the page twice to make sure I am still reading the same review! Seems like mini-GTA built into SimCity? What do y'all here think about the feature?

I'm pretty sceptical about it... sure, I'll try it, but I believe I wont use this feature much...

Waste of time comest to mind...
They could have included many other features instead of this IMO.

/me agrees with Alva..
Nothing but fluff, and i'm sure there were a lot more usefull features to think of to add.

They got barnd-new preview at Gamespot, and some more screenies:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/...w_6074988.html
It's basically all about this U-Drive-It feature... I don't know, the more I read about it, the less I like it. For instance, it says: "Rush Hour will have many different vehicles that you'll be able to unlock after constructing various types of new buildings in your city, and, interestingly, by successfully performing vehicular missions you can also unlock higher-level buildings that add to your mayoral rating." Man... I thought this would be another feature that they wasted their time on and nobody would use. (At least, from what I gathered, and from your responses here.) But no... Now it is a requirement if you want some of the buildings. Oh well...

But I don't care. The new roads and rail are enough to interest me. That was my main beef with the game, that you couldn't have an attractive and practical transit system. All cities inveritably ended up being huge grids. (I do try hard to not let that happen to my cities, though. )
Hell, just the one-way road is enough to interest me.

AFAIK you can them the 'traditional' way aswell, the mission are of a shortcut to getting them.

I found the economic system to be really lame in sim city 4. I mean it was almost impossible to get a city off of the ground if you included services such as police and fire yet in real life I see small towns with plenty of police, fire, and schools.

He he, that mayor is named Costanza. I guess he eventually became a city planner, despite always wanting to pretend he was an architect. (Van Buren Boys episode of Seinfeld)
To be on topic, I really really want to name landmarks. That might bring back my interest in the game.
U-Drive-It, however, looks like an irrelevent feature that has no place in the XP.

And in real life it can take a century for a hamlet to grow into a city.
