I think that he doesn't like to have to sit through the saving process. Which is quite long in Sim City 4, if I remember correctly.

That's correct...
...and in the other game, the saving process takes even longer...

YOu do know about the quick-save , right? 'control - S'
It's faster then the normal save but doesn't update the graphics on the region map

Today (after 3 months of playing, figure out what's Datajack's head made of) I found out that if you make up any geometrichal figure on the ground with roads, then place a r/c/i tile inside it and hold the mouse on the same point for a cpl seconds, it will automatically cover every single tile and draw streets all over. Try and create cities made up with not just squares and rectangles at last

Yes, but it didn't cut more time of the saving process... it was only little faster... But I change cities all the time anyway, where it automaticly saves the normal way...

Well, the more I play the better my cities evolve .
Another topic: Cities aren't squares!
It would be interesting to see (with tommorow's hardware) a huge map the size of the region... You get a part un-shaded to build on that increases either with time or with purchace. You could see other cities change but not be able to take a direct hand in their development.
Just an idea.

Sounds like a cool idea to me.

This is the stupidest question so far but can you tell me about internet sites where I can possibly read every single detail about the new features included in RH?

Here's a quick place for the info... not very deep though... but it's pretty easy to find more information, by going to gamespy gamespot or such place and search for Rush Hour:

And here's a screenshot of my own, showing new road transportation features: avenues, ground highways, and one way roads.

I see you have a parking garage... Have you gotten it to work with the 1-tile-inbetween method?

I can't seem to get people to use my parking garages at all...
What is this 1-tile in between method?

I read that in (generic) SC4 you had to have 1 non-transportation space between transportation buildings like subway stations, train stations, bus stops, etc. Otherwise sims wouldn't change between them. But even following that I can't get anyone to use parking garages. It might be a bug.

Yeah, I never understood why the highways where raised when you couldn't building anything except roads crossing through.
Speaking of which, are you able to do more then just that under a highway now? (ie. have roads going along underneath it, instead of just cross through)

Nope, roads can still only cross highways... and as far as I know, you still can't build roads (or anything) under a bridge
Haven't checked myself though... haven't come across such situation...

What's the deal about ground highways? Who could ever want to live near an highway after all

In-game, ground highways are cheaper to build than elevated highways. Capacity and upkeep are the same, though. In real-life, ground highways are quite common here in the United States. Although not identical, in-game highways and US highways are similar only in that they've multiple lanes and limited access. Mostly between cities you'd see ground highways (and even in cities), but elevated highways are only found in cities. Ground highways, if only for the sake of realism, have been needed in SimCity for a long time.
