bombard bug

go to a road and have workers start to build a railroad over it,
wait until the units only have one turn left for it to be built,
bombard the road and destroy it with an artillery or other unit, leaving nothing in its place,
the next turn a railroad will be built

But it is irritating... That happened sometimes when I was in a long war with the germans, and when the random seed is against you, destroying those railroads again can be a real pain in the a$$.

It can often happen when you are bombarding enemy terrain. Fairly often I end up destroying improvements around cities with e.g. battleships. One hit gets rid of the railroads, ta very much. Next turn some workers have moved on, and start railroading (presumably). I destroy the remaining roads with another turn of bombardment, then they finish working and hey presto - they're back to railroads again. Mildly annoying, but OTOH you can use it to your advantage too.
