Do you create custom races?
In Moo2 i almost never played the original races. I always created custom ones.
Now in Moo3 I dont change the race picks at all. How about you?

Sure I usually tweak something. Personalising a race a little reminds me of what their talents are and helps me to identify with it.

I usually play the stock characters first then later I start tweaking them. I usually love high research and production (and a rich HW).

Funny. Rich HW gives you such a great head- start, but I never used it. Even in Moo2...Gotta try that..

Rich HW is especially nice if you're playing a race that is juiced up on the mining/industry side anyway.
I've been experimenting with Cynoids that have been maxed out with industry/mining (including rich HW) and given a tech boost. I sacrificed the economic picks and a diplomacy level (I think).
Seems to be working quite well, some of my planets seem to be producing a little slowly though, i'll have to figure out why.

Hmm. It always seemed to me that fiddling with the economy pick is kinda dangerous....
You can have tons of industry, but without the money you dont get PPs. SO, are you sure your Cynoids are really gaining from the industry boost?

They are. You don't gain more money with economt rait. It just changes the interest on loans/surplus.

Yes, yes they do.

Psilon
On multiplayer:
Modified Psilon w/ research maxed
with a cooperative partner (for now) who uses
Modified Raas w/ production maxed
Very successful. On turn 350 in a 2 arm huge with 8 other races (originally).
