Of course, if you don't vote than you can't complain about anything... I usually vote, then won't tell anyone how I voted until I find out if it a)passed and b) did any good. THat way I am always right

I always vote without exception.
As a side note...Even though it is secret who you voted for, politicians have access to who actually voted. Something to keep in mind next time you contact city hall.

I usually vote, then I complain (=whine) that the majority voted wrong....
No, seriously, I vote in most elections I can, not because I believe the politicians, mainly because I think it is my duty. If nobody voted, our democracies would go downhill fast....

I make a point of voting in all elections that I deem important. This excludes things like student union elections.

I vote at all levels. The local elections are the most important for me. Very few people vote on the city level, and they can have the most impact on my day to day life. Plus, your vote means a heck of alot more when only a few thousand people are voting. When they run at the same time as the national/state elections, that's a different story... but when all the voting is just for the city, most people don't bother to vote.

And then they cry over pot-holes.
I'll vote on anything.
The ultimate chance to give my opinion.

Yeah... My neighbor was whining about some new thing and I asked him if he had voted in the last city election... of course he said no. The vote on the "new thing" he was talking about passed by only 10 votes

I vote.
Why would anyone not vote?
Except those stupid student union elections, of course, because those are of no consequence whatsoever. Why should I vote for some polo-neck wearing geek who only wants to be Union President because he's too stupid to do post-graduate studies and only wants to hang around campus for another year because he thinks if he can enlarge his pseudo-penis with mock power then he might get some naive fresher to pop his cherry?

I'll try to vote in every one, but occasionally I will get distracted at work and miss one. Rarely, but it happens.

I take it you recently lost in a closely-contested Student Union election ?

No, actually.
That's a description of someone I knew at Uni, though.
He was such a goober he didn't even stand for the election ... but he wanted to, for pretty much those reasons I listed.

I have been an inconsistent voter: I voted in the first national elections I had a chance to vote in (98), but that meant I registered in chicago, so i had little interest in local Chicago elections. I was out of the country for the 2000 vote and did not make the approprate absentee ballot preparations in time. And I did not vote in 2002, back in chicago.
I do have to go register soon here in NY.

Guildford Borough Council, right?

http://www.guildford.gov.uk/
In the ward of Westborough the pacifist party got 133 votes (1.5%).

héhé, to be honest I don't think it's such a bad thing, many people (not that long ago) died for that very right.

I haven't voted in local elections for a long time. In the last election, we had Greyout Davis, the worst governor of all time, running against the latest Republican bozo nominated by the party. I could not get enthusiastic about either candidate, so I passed.
Now if Arnold Schwarzenegger were to run for Governor, I would vote. I might even get enthusiastic about the likes of Jesse Ventura. However, the candidates that have been running for governor on the Republican ticket here have been atrocious.
