Annoucement CIV3PTW League Shutdown

Back in January I asked if there was a league similar to CIV2 for playing the new PTW. Someone said "start one !" I did and after 300,000 matches and 1000 + members ... it was successful ... until one player named diplomaniac started on a vendetta to cause mayhem after being penalized for mulitple accounts.

I and the other admins have been fighting his attempts for several weeks and tonight he won. He created a bogus website and emailed many players with an invite to test a new interface to protect against imposters. It captured their name and password and he would go on a tirade of false reports.

After 18 hrs of fighting him I gave up . He also apparently found my real address and started making threats. He was also able to somehow get access to the admin functions. He would likely have deleted the league anyway. In the end I didn't want him to have the pleasure of deleting it.

So my sincere apologies to those that played and enjoyed the the league but the reality of the situation is that there would be another diplomaniac. League play is not possible with a game that will not allow you to set a password.

Farewell CIV3PTW League members. I will miss the game but not the hassle.
