I can never tell for sure what the settings are for galaxy. What is the size, age and tech start? How many players.
If it was a prewarp, huge I could see why no contact yet. If smaller, then I would guess fewer players.

Ok I see it now as 2 players, large, avg tech, org rich.
Whats with the races as Unknown?

Well I did not get any leaders with any boost for research and only had the lame labor leader. It took 113 turns, not sure if that was done the best way either. I did not go for AF.
