Modswapper question
I wonder whether modswapper can be adapted to another game, namely Galciv.
As I understand it, Modswapper basically moves files around and provides a nice user interface. Could it be adapted to another game (which lacks scenario support per se so requires files moving)?

If Galciv has a file that is called gamefile.txt, that contains a list of text files that the game does use, and maybe one or two other files that have to be copied and all the graphic and sound files don't need to be overwritten that it is fulladaptable, otherwise you have to do the whole programming from scratch or you have to create for every mod two batch files.

Modswapper probably wouldn't be so applicable, but I did develop a more functional replacement for it (called ModManager - see http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=78244) which may well be more applicable and I'd be happy to try to alter it appropriately if you wish (or just supply the source code).

Thanks for the answers. I couldn't check aployton for a while. I know HawaiiFiveO is making a nice editor for GalCiv and looks at modswapping options. Since he's using VB too, ModManager might be useful for him (personnally I suck at VB). The problem is GalCiv has no scenario management per se. You can mod, but must save all files or even directories if you want to swap from one to another.

Well, I can send him my source code if he wishes, or modify it myself.

I mentionned it to him on the galciv forum. I know he's not yet to the point of tackling modswapping part, but I hope I can convince him to...
