Does the AI know who owns Hidden Nationality units?
ok, lets say i've got my privateer in my harbor, right? i send it out, take out a galley with it, and send it right back to the harbor. does that AI civ realize it is my unit? this could also go along with land units, capturing cities, etc.
edit:
there was this really good site some guy here had, he had strategies and like "stories" of the games he played, with screenshots and stuff. anyone know what i'm talking about?

Yes and no
They "know" it is you in the sense that it will affect your reputation, but "no" in the sense that it counts as war

Attacking with hidden nationality units is a good way to make a civ go from Polite to Furious with you in a hurry. Other than that it can't do anything about it.

so, as i send over privateers to the other continent right now, does the AI know that it is me and me alone, being the human, or does does it "try to figure out" who is sending them?
i've only once had the AI build privateers, and that was in the baltic sea (european map) i was russia, they were scandinavia, we sent privateers over the other side, way too obvious, but he remained polite (i was by far number one though).

Like Louis XXIV posted, they do in a way know it is you.
If you have PTW and set up a scenario using the debug mode you can witness this. In the diplomacy screen, you will see numbers beside where it says 'polite' or 'furious'. The different attitude ranks have a range of numbers for them. A civ could be at -10 and you do 5 minor bad things to them, but they will still be in the polite range (-5). You could also be at -1, and one little bad thing would bring them to 0 (cautious) or +1 (annoyed). You do get a little penalty for attacking with privateers, so this will deteriorate their attitude. So it won't lead to war directly, but if the AI starts feeling bad towards you, this may indirectly lead to war. If you stop using privateers for awhile, you can recover these lost attitude points.

Now that's a good way to make friends around here.
BTW, you neglected the capitalization at the beginning of your first sentence and you also didn't include a question mark at the end. And generally the word "God" is capitalized as well. Plus the final sentence should have had an exclamation mark instead of a period, indicating emphasis, which you obviously were trying to do.
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
PS Pompous twit!

yes, it is bad, but there was no one here to proof-read the composition i had just prepared.
getting back on topic, what do you think would happen if i have privateers that THEY attack, as they often do?

No problem. I can't stand people who shoot their mouths off about someone's English language skills when they aren't even good at it themselves.

I have an issue with people who write inconprehinsible posts.
I don't demand perfection, but people should at least take ownership of their work and not just randomly post things that only they can understand.
Anyways, sorry if you're insulted.

I had no problem understanding him.
BTW, you spelled incomprehensible wrong. Would you like to remove your foot from your mouth now so you can change feet again?

Apology
Guys, I'm sorry for acting the way I did.
There was no excuse, and those who know me know I don't normally act like this.
I guess I came home a little drunk and was pissed off at someone in my life which translated into my posts.
bobbo008, sorry.
Willem, appreciate you hitting me over the head with that. I deserved your scathing tounge lashing.

The moral of this story is: Never drink and drivel.

The debug mode is only available with PTW. You need to create a scenario in the editor and the debug mode option is in the 'scenario properties' tab.
