Come to the merry land where Christmas is everyday until the Chairman says stop. Sit on the slide of destiny as the party shall propell you forward in destiny to your fate in history. Feel the ages of worry sit on your shoulders as all the party bureacrats pore over your work!

The second half of the court transcript will be released soon. Maybe somebody (CoughVevCough) could write couple case related pieces such as how people were cheering for the justice and an interview with Jamski in that cold wet cell about how his haiku insanity returns.

Transcript Case No 2145-0001 (part II)
Judge Octavian X: I've only one question for the defendant: Do you now swear your everlasting loyalty to this government of the Human Hive?
Witness Jamski: I swear everlasting loyalty to the Human Hive.
State Prosecutor: If it so pleases the Court the Prosecution would like to submit the following communiqué from Ex-Deputy Chairman Jamski to the administration of the Human Hive:
* State Prosecutor hands each judge and the defendant attorney a copy of paper.
Quote:
|
I am assuming power and control over the Human Hive. The Chairman is deposed. I shall shortly announce my new deputy chairman. Vander is confirmed as the permanent PRAVDA editor. Ex-Chairman Voltaire is sentenced to prison for his non-action in the face of duty, and his lack of response to the resignation of the planning authorities.
All conduct of Hive business and control of the military is now my responsibility! (until someone takes it from my dead hands)
The Marshal is stripped to the rank of Private until he can excuse his behavior in DESERTING from the glorious Hive Armed Forces in the moment of need.
|
State Prosecutor: The People would like to know why Citizen Jamski felt it necessary to depose our beloved Chairman since the Constitution gave him the authority to act. The Ex-Deputy Chairman’s words prove that his intent was not the best interests of the People, since he could have very well done so within the powers given to him by the Constitution, but rather the overthrow of the People’s beloved Chairman. This clearly is an act of treason.
Witness Jamski: The Chairman had ceased to act in the best interests of the Hive, AND HE CONTINUES TO DO SO! I stand by my actions as the correct behavior! His abandonment of his post was a serious treasonable offence.
Judge HongHu: I would like to ask a clarification from the witness. Are you pleading not guilty in this case? Are you contending that you will continue your action against the Chairman?
Witness Jamski: I plead not guilty, or this trial wouldn't even be happening. As for continuing the plot... I certainly don't want to play any more turns right now.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Comments to the Defendant: I suggest you tone down your arrogance. Your actions nearly collapsed the Hiverian government and sent us to war. This is hardly deserving of a medal.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Questions for the Defendant: Do you recognized that your coup has failed? Please answer YES or NO.
Witness Jamski: Yes, sadly
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Do you recognize that Chairman Voltaire is the legitimate head of the government of the Human Hive? YES or NO.
Witness Jamski: Yes, sadly
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Do you recognize that your attempted coup was illegal? YES or NO.
Witness Jamski: No, because in the absence of the chairman, I decided what was legal or not.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Do you believe you should be punished? YES or NO.
Witness Jamski: No. As stated before, I should be rewarded for "awaking the Hive" from its slumbers.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Do you believe that Comrade Kody is counter-revolutionary? YES or NO.
Witness Jamski: If counter-revolutionary means putting private pleasures such as study, work or a social life before the Hive, then yes. Sorry Kody.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Chairman Voltaire and I have had much contact in the past, including during the time in question. With this information, do you still stand by your claim that "he would not ever return"?
Witness Jamski: With all due lack of respect an absent chairman talking privately to a man who claims to be god is hardly something for a court of law. Perhaps you should withdraw this question.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: As deputy chairman, you take "Chairman" position until he returns. Why did you attempt to overthrow the Chairman and permanently occupy his position?
Witness Jamski: Because he had not only been absent for a while, but had been neglecting the job for a long while before. For the good of the Hive I thought a new chairman would be needed. Also, I doubted anyone would even notice, let alone care.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: Were you or were you not in collaboration with Comrade Citizen Vander in this failed coup?
Witness Jamski: Who is on trial here?
Judge HongHu: Judge Tass's question is a valid question. Witness must answer the question.
Witness Jamski: I'll keep silent.
Judge Comrade Tassadar: All the peoples know Kody is a master at playing turns. Why did you willingly and knowingly nullify Kody's turn when you know he is better than ANYONE, including YOU, at playing them?
Witness Jamski: I acted under instruction from Googliegod. You wouldn't dare to go against his words.
Judge HongHu: Another follow-up question. When you initially announced that your turn was the official one did you receive secret instruction from Googliegod?
Witness Jamski: Googliegod made me do it!!!! He said he'd press end-turn if I didn't!
Judge HongHu: Jamski, will you now agree that you are guilty of counter-revolutionary act, and that you will accept whatever punishment the party and the court award to you?
Witness Jamski: OK
* Judge HongHu hesitated for a long time, before she finally asked her final question gravely:
Judge HongHu: Dear deputy chairman, I have always had the greatest respect of you. From your earlier testimony, I understood that you had performed your action because you believed that it was for the best interest of the Hive. My question to you now is: Do you still maintain that it is to the Hive's interest to "dispose" the Chairman? Or will you choose to support and help the Chairman in his future endeavor of leading the Hive to our final success?
Witness Jamski: My answer depends on the future actions of the chairman. If my "coup" has woken him up to both his power and his responsibilities, then I will continue to serve him to the best of my abilities, either as deputy or in whatever role he assigns me. If he acts to the detriment of the Hive I love, I cannot stand by and see all of our hard work wasted through disinterested politicos.
Judge HongHu: Any other questions from the judges and parties?
Judge HongHu: Hearing none. We will now proceed to closing statement from the prosecution and the defendant.
Counsel Jamski: WAIT! I'd like to call Googliegod as a witness!
Judge HongHu: You may call Googliegod as a witness.
State Prosecutor: OBJECTION! The People do not see what relevant information Googliegod could provide to this case, the People will withdraw their objection if the Defendant could beforehand elaborate for the court what purpose he has in calling Googliegod as a witness.
Judge HongHu: Sustained. Counsel Jamski must elaborate his purpose of calling Gooliegod as a witness.
Judge HongHu: Looks like that Counsel Jamski is not able to present a convincing argument. The court therefore moves to the next step, closing argument. The court will adjourn in 19 metric hours.
Judge HongHu: The court is now adjourned. Judges, please meet me at the chamber.

Please correct this article, improve the style. I am too tired right now
Comrade Anderson, a hovertruck driver from the CFD (Centre of food distribution) Googliegrad, stopped his vehicle and swallowed. The scenery in front of his windscreen equalled the holovids he had seen about the famines on old earth: People in rags covered the streets above the underground structure of this city, which was called "Michanapolis". They were crying after a piece of bread or just something to eat. Hundreds, more likely thousands were already dead; Starved, killed for food or struck by the epidemics.
Nobody knows how this could happen. Almost twenty months had passed since the last food convoys reached this city, and the local farmers weren´t able to cover the needs of the growing population. Some counter-revolutionists claim that the ten-children-policy was responsible for that catastrophe, but luckily they could have been arrested before their sabotage of our glorious Communism reached a concerning level.
Comrade Anderson´s hovertruck has been the first of eighty-six, all of them carrying hundreds of tons of basic food, and all those drivers have been welcomed as heroes by the Michanapolitans. All eighty-six men and women have been awarded the "Hero of the Human Hive" medal (HHH), followed by a huge celebration in the warm bowels of that great city.
However the question of "why" is yet to be answered, the case is being brought to investigation by the Central Committee of Internal Affairs by next week. How many died, noone knows. Almost all of them were workers, attracted by the city´s rapid developement during the past years, which has now ended in a national disaster. Some experts estimate a number of 20,000 people who had to die, which would make up for an unbelievable 40% of the total population.
The citizens of the Human Hive mourn their dead comrades!

Hmm, well we could publish the issue soon, or we could wait and release it as Chairman Voltaire's special birthday edition (i.e. December 14th).

Ahh. I think we should publish this as soon as possible then. Since we don't want evil Spamski occupies the most part of the special edition. We should perhaps publish the new constitution and some articles about how the chairman is loved by the people in the Chairman Voltaire's special birthday edition .

Did we lose our Pravda title picture? Could somebody (read: Jamski) hold the picture in his personal webpage so we could link to it?
Looks like we will have to publish this as the special chairman birthday edition afterall. Can somebody add something in the spirit of celebration?

The Great Cultural Revolution
The Great Leap Forward in 2145 followed by three years of natural disaster had become the biggest economic failure in the history of the Human Hive. In late 2146, amid signs of rising popular restiveness, the CCC admitted that the favorable production report had been exaggerated. The mismanagement of the Hive politburo had led to serious economic consequences. Food shortage was experienced in multiple cities resulting mass reduction of population. Scientists were assigned to act as doctors at the presence of famine resulting absolutely freeze of technological development. Mass amount of workers were ordered to immigrate for cultivation of new areas, only to find destination unreachable and/or unworkable and workers were forced to re-immigrate to original cities. This had led to exhaustion and demoralization of the peasantry and of the intellectuals, not to mention the party and government cadres at all levels.
In the mean time Deputy Chairman Jamski, seeking the opportunity that Chairman Voltaire was out of office for his South Hive Tour, decided to seize the military power in his hands and try to oust Chairman Voltaire in a coup. Between November 17th to 25th, 2146, attempts of attacks on Voltaire were carried out when he tried to go back to his office at the Hive. Chairman Voltaire was able to avoid the assasination because of advance intelligence reports. In these nervous days guards were placed every 10-20 Meters on Voltaire's route.
Following the crush of Jamski’s counter revolution activities, Chairman Voltaire started the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, to restore the vitality of communism in the Human Hive. Chairman Voltaire sought to dismantle the complex governmental structure that had developed after the establishment of the Human Hive. All government officials and intellectuals were sent out to work in the fields alongside the peasants. Tens of thousands were executed. Voltaire was named supreme commander of the nation and army. Comrade HongHu advocated restructure of the government starting with relinquishing of the party’s long-standing supply system, which guarantees high level officials with monthly supply of xeno-doughnuts, unlimited visits to Japanese girls and free passes to the enlightment centers. “If the supply system has played an important role in ensuring the final victory of the revolution, why should it be replaced now in its entirety by the wage system?” She was quoted to say, “....this is because the supply system is contradictory to the principles of 'to each according to his work' and 'equal pay for equal work'. ...He who performs better labor and does better work gets a better pay, and equal work will earn equal pay. In this way, one can be caused to interest himself, from the standpoint of material interests, in the results of his labor and to link up his personal interests with the overall interest of the state...”
The restructuring movement is deemed to be successful. The Human Hive has started to recover from earlier disorder and chaos. Newly elected officials, although still lacking in experience, are working day and night with great enthusiasm. The citizens of the Hive is in high spirit entering Chairman Voltaire’s birthday celebration.

In other news:
Hive official announced today that a secret turn advantage project has been undergoing involving lots of colony pods and Comrade Claire Forlani. The completion of this project will ensure the Human Hive superseed Sister Miariam in her effort of being the most productive pod producer, an unidentified sources disclosed.
Rumors have been spread over the Human Hive that a scientist predicted that the head quarter base of a unamed neiboring faction will experience Drone Riots. The statement was denied by the Hive official and the person who were believed to initiate the rumor were said to be taking into custody.
A daring reader wrote to the Chief Editor of Pravda accusing him to be associated with the Jamski counter revolution activities. Who wrote this piece? The reporter needs to be fired. Chief Editor Vander.

HIVE GOVERNMENT DISSOLVED!
Cheif corrispondant Comrade Honghu was there through the thick of it to give us this report of the great chairman's Great Leap Forward:
The Great Leap Forward in 2145 followed by three years of natural disaster had become the biggest economic failure in the history of the Human Hive. Newly elected officials, although still lacking in experience, are working day and night with great enthusiasm. The Supreme People's Court of the Human Hive
In the matter of People of the Human Hive vs. the Jamski Counter-Revolutionary Movement
Case No. 2145-0001
Report and Order
I. History of the case
On Nov 19, 2145, the Central Continuing Committee of the Human Hives ordered that “the Supreme People’s Court take on the matter of investigating and ruling on the matter of the coup”.
Upon receiving the court notice, comrade Jamski stated that he would represent himself and later plead not guilty.
Based upon principle of “not guilty until proved” the court has offered the defendant due process. The prosecution and the defendant each had opening statement and opportunities of questioning of the witness. The witness also received questions from the bench. Both sides waived closing statement.
The court was closed on Nov 25, 2145.
II. Discussions
The prosecution stated that comrade Jamski had violated the Constitution and Laws by attempting to overthrow the legitimate government.
The defendant argued that Comrade Jamski was not guilty because he was simply “fill[ing] in for the Chairman while he was away” and “defend[ing] the people from the dictaorship of the military”.
The defendant has successfully established evidence that the Chairman had not been active during the period of the aforementioned “coup”. However, the court finds that the defendant was not simply carrying out the duty of the deputy chairman to fill in for the Chairman.
The court doesn’t believe that the job responsibility of the deputy chairman constitutes actions of deposing the chairman and sentencing him to prison. The above quotations from the defendant clearly showed that the defendant was not simply carrying out the duty of the deputy chairman. The court finds that the defendant’s argument is invalid.
The defendant further claimed that he could not be responsible for overthrowing the government because he “was the government”. The court finds this statement shows nothing but the swelling of the defendant’s egoism.
During the trial the defendant admitted that he had attempted a coup although it was not “planned”. He also admitted that during the coup he had skimmed Kody’s post and posted a worse turn than the Kody turn. However, the defendant maintains that he was not doing that for his own interest and that the result of his actions had “awak[en] the Hive from its slumbers”, therefore his actions are “the correct behavior”.
The court concludes that the defendant had good intentions but chosen the wrong path. Had he recognized what he did was wrong, the court would be considering the minimum penalty. However, the defendant had not shown any remorse. In fact the defendant had already been planning another coup.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED:
1. That Comrade Jamski is not guilty of Sabotage of the socialist system.
2. That Comrade Jamski is guilty of Violation of the Constituion and Laws.
3. That Comrade Jamski be awarded 30 years of hard labor in specially constructed SPAM factory.
4. That Comrade Jamski is guilty of ibid while in public office.
5. That Comrade Jamski be banned from any superier government positions of the Human Hive.
6. That Comrade Jamski is guilty of High treason against the people.
7. That Comrade Jamski be awarded with 10 years hard labour in the Hive farms where he could contribute to the improvement of teraforming.
8. That Comrade Jamski is guilty of High treason against the State.
9. That Comrade Jamski’s action has brought unrecoverable adverse effect to the welfare of the Human Hive.
10. That Comrade Jamski be awarded maximum penalty and be exciled from the Human Hive.
11. That this order shall become effective on Dec 2, 2146.
By authority of the state of Human Hive

NEW VISION OF THE FUTURE FOR MANKIND!
-- In celebration of the Glorious Chariman's birthday, Hive theorists have theorized the future of mankind. Cheif Theorist Vev had this to say:
Behold citizens of Chiron, the time has arrived for all those blessed ones to place their mark on this virgin world. No more shall we be confined to the frailities of human flesh, conditioning and thoughts for we shall be the legions the mind of the many who would lead forward to the future. Once such thoughts were a dream, an futile hope we cling to desparately wishing what transpires shall be true. Rather through this promised land of Chiron as all be drawn together in the vast conscious network planet fungus shall our consciousness merge and mingle and be free to express ourselves and thoughts without fear or the oppression of tyranny. For those who have the drive and the will shall transcend our mortal coil, beyond our mudane self, where their spirit shall rise and the unfortunate meeked soul shall inherit what is of the plant unable to join their brethens in the infinity circuit of the planet network.
Come the hour of reckoning is at hand and the the culmination of the our specis shall be be integrated. Release ourselves to the Transcendance Cycle to break free ... free to what lies beyond our imagination.

The title of the first artical needs to be changed from "the great leap forward" to "The great cultural revolution". The first was called by the marshal and was a failure and the second was called by the chairman and is of course the most successful movement in the Human Hive.

Also I thought the chief editor other news piece is more hilarious without the quotation marks. Like Vander wrote on the piece of news and the workers simply printed the words out as if they are his edits.
