I am greatly angered that you didn't put my favorite show that nobody watches but me on the poll. This is a moral outrage!

It's gotta be South Park. The recent episode with Jimmy and Timmy trying to join the Crips was side-splittingly funny!

Overdone, it sucks, and it sucks hard.

I can remember one overdone that had me in tears. The one where homer basically tells the audiance that fox sux and everyone should be watching NBC, and then during the credits he's reading a disclaimer seemingly forced by fox, but decides to change his mind and you hear a gunshot. That was overdone, but still hilarious.

Simpsons fans are too ****ing loyal. You have losers all around the country collecting simpsons collectibles, watching taping every ****ing episodes.
I dont think Southpark has as much die hard fans as simpsons.
I think south park in general have more offensive stuff, which makes it better for me, but if you're just looking for witty comments than simpsons would be better... not that Im saying SOuthpark doesnt have those moments.
I wanted to vote for futurama.

And some of that making fun of themselves can be funny if used sparingly and not over done.
|
Yeah, but much of it's cringeworthy. There's basically an "We know we suck and we acknowledge it so it excuses the suckiness" element, which I've always hated.

Neither. South park was never good because it relied on entirely low-brow humor and always will.
The Simpsons glory days are long since passed and will never return. The show has run its course. It is not as funny as it was. Not even close.
If you want a good animated series, try Naruto or Trigun.

The Simpsons was brilliant between seasons 3 and 8, disgusting before season 3, and stupid after season 8. The creators of South Park are cretinous monkey-children who couldn't draw to save their lives. My vote goes to The Simpsons.

Simpsons was the show but South Park has crashed and is ready fpr either new talent or the bin.
I can't really say the Simpsons is the show as they are now on the balance of crashing and burning. Maybe new talent should be added. This years season except Marge working out and raping Homer was total crap compared to previous seasons.
Futurama, newer show and going strong.
Please take King of the Hill off the screens, tv and planet. Can't stand that show!!!!!!!!

I love the Simpsons overall more... but the one South Park episode, where Cartman has a Jennifer Lopez on his hand... made me cry from laughter. "Taco flavored kisses for my Ben"

Despite no longer being in its golden years, The Simpsons is the easy winner. It has something South Park never will, which is heart.
SP is very funny at times (not consistently, IMO).
Futurama is excellent, as was the much-underappreciated The Family Guy
However, my greatest wish would be for a return of The Critic. This show was simply brilliant, and I never failed to laugh hysterically at every episode.

The Simpsons are still good, even if they are on the decline. The writing on Simpsons is the only one that compares to Seinfeld in its peak. They take twists and turns in the plot and you never know when something is going to reappear. The show where they had a day from four different view points was classic clever Simpsons.
I guess thats the difference, Simpsons is clever, South Park is in you face. I like South Park too, their little voices screaming dammit and their full frontal assaults on earth day and teaching about condoms in the schools is biting and funny.
I just don't see South Park getting the same mileage as Simpsons. Simpsons are still funny in repeats. Clever is always good, while shock wears thin. So I vote Simpsons.
Futurama, Family Guy, maybe I'll look at them again. They both sucked so bad their first seasons I still click them off whenever I see them.

If you didn't like family guy or futurama when on their first seasons, you probably won't start liking them now, not like they changed or anything. Unless you changed. No biggie if you don't like them, it only means your evil person with bad taste and satan will take your soul.

Simpsons!
No contest!
South Park is terrible, with only one type of humor. Simpsons has humor on multiple levels. It is many times more clever.

there was a new Simpsons ep here in the UK tonight, the Spell-ympics ep, and it was bloody awful. Just as terrible as the "300th" episode and didn't make me laugh once - not even close.
Used to love the Simpsons but have seen too many of the old episodes too many times, as they are repeated often by Sky, and the new episodes are too awful to bother with. So I've pretty much given up on them which is a shame as they used to be so good.
Someone get new Futurama and Family Guy commisioned ASAP please, I need funny cartoons!

The simpsons are definately not as funny as they used to be, but I still find it very entertaining. I've never found south park to be too entertaining

Simpsons. Too bad I lost over half of my early season tapes... South Park's good for a juvenile laugh or two, but nothing else.
