Valhalla Herald: Letterhead Contest
Just what it says.
I need a new letterhead for the E-mail version (and if I ever get my web version up and running)
This time I figured I'ld post a contest, though. (Last time I knew JUST what I wanted, and Aro obliged, this time, though I have no idea)
Winner will be recognized in each edition, I may even rotate a few of them, who knows.
(I send some out to some peculiar places far from the civ community as well, could be beneficial?)

I have a very bloody version, but I don't know if that is what you like...

I don't know what I want yet.
Here's the old one....
anyway something professional looking, and we can keep the smilies and culture simbles (That came from a post by MRWIA in response to the first edition of the Gazette...)
Maybe some really cool longboat on one side, or something to that effect?

gah... I sya stop with this LITARCY thing, and these odd talks on ´´writing´´ and ´´reading´´... this is no good for a warrior... if Odin meant for us to read books he´d have had women dress with ´em...

What do you think of this one? I haven't added the smilies yet, but things can still be added. This is but a basic design.

Aidun, that's a very good basic design - though I doubt that everyone would want to receive a bloody headline to his mailbox every once in a while (what would the co-workers think? ).
In order for it to work better, I think that the warriors should be more dominant (the lines are too soft IMHO), and the headline should be defined better (perhaps with a black stroke of 2-3 pixels around it). But it's really good for a basis!

Well, I don't have too much artistic talent, but I thought I'd try making a headline design anyway, so here it is:

That looks good Jonny. What I think panag ment was have the edges look like it was pulled out from a fire.... make them irregular and blackened.... take a regular peace of paper, set the edge on fire, then put it out. That is the effect I think he was talking about.

I would prefer not to have that, though, thanks.
It would not look all that good unless I made the whole thing lood that way IMO.
Very nice Jonny.

Your forgeting something.
I know that as Vikings we are known for axes and longboats, pillaging, bloodlust, etc. But there is one stable of Viking culture that I belive is being neglected in the letter-head. DRINKING! What about mead halls and drunken revelries? I think a good drinking horn would be a welcome addition to the logo.

Aidun:
I like that warrior very much, however, I would prefer some nice black lettering to the bloody ones.
Oh, and bump hoping for more submissions.
