The non-sinful pleasures in life...
Sometimes I don't see why anyone would want to have sex, do drugs, or drink, what with the immense beauty of the sober life.
Some feelings are incredible... lying in a warm, soft bed when you are exhausted and knowing you can just close your eyes and drift off into sleep...
To play a close game of basketball on an indoor court, hearing those squeeks of sneakers against the hardwood... to have sweat dripping down your face as you shoot a fade-away three pointer in someone's face...
hell, to play outdoors, in the rain, with the soaking wet net swishing that incredible sound everytime you make a clean shot...
or to sit on a bench in those block-wide little parks on a warm sunny day but shaded by a tree... having the cool wind blowing now and then on you...
or to help a little kid touch the sky by lifting him up high with him asking you to put him even higher...
or to perform on stage, moving your body with the rhythm of beat, while gripping the mic and hollering... seeing nothing but a white light blinding you but hearing the whole audience enthralled by you...
and on and on...
Who the **** needs sin when there's pleasures like these?

Millions of people, given current statistics.
One could just as well ask who needs a billion dollars, since all the pleasures you just stated are relatively cheap, but that won;t stop people from trying to amass huge wealth 9which interestingly enough, used o be seen as a sin, until removed from the list a while ago. Wonder what sins will be deleted next?)

Maybe people that don't take the same joy in things as you do...
Different people find happiness in different things.
As soon as I heard the world sin, I knew it was an obvious troll, but this one still irked me none the less.

"or to help a little kid..."
Gotta have to clue you in here, Albert ol' buddy. These little kids you see running around, waiting to be helped? They're, uh, well, you know:
created by sex.
Now, now, don't be shocked. But it's true... little kids (even those really precious ones who want nothing but to be helped) are the product of sin.
Sorry to break it to you. PM me if you need further guidance on this issue... I know of a few tasteful and not-so-tasteful sites that will be able to explain (possibly even show, in full 256kb streaming video nonetheless) the kid-making process further.

Though I dont fancy the idea of outdoor sports, non-sinful pleasures are definately better than sinful pleasures

Nice idea Speer, but.....
You like rap, I like rock
well, that's all I really know about your pleasures.
Anywhooo, different stokes for different folks.
The trick is to make sure that one doesn't interfere with the other.
Also, I wish I could stop drinking, I really wish I could

Sex doesnt have to be a Sin, as long as your married and with your opposite sex spouse and your not having wrongful lustful thoughts....
As for non-sinful pleasures, I agree, I am a recovering Alcohol and substance abuser.
I find pleasure in My Lord, My Family, my work and I love games...modding and playing...
I really enjoy TBS and RTS as well as some shooter games.....
I agree Sin is Rampant and not judging anyone, just we can move beyond what was originally posted herein to have fun outside of Carnal pleasures....
Peace

John..some of those kids you refer to may have been conceived in Sin, but doesnt mean all were...
Just a point, that Sin of Sex is Sex outside of a Hetersexual Marriage.

take sex, for instance:
to be able to wrap yourself around the one you love, so completely and wholly, knowing that this was how things were meant to be... sharing that single moment together alone, creating a joyous universe unto yourselves asking nothing but receiving so much in return...
all of this, with love, while sober, while completely straight-edge...
i can understand why people do it, even if it is a sin to have it before marriage.

Well, I agree "Religion" can be crap...me..I chose following Jesus Christ to get out of 20+ years of alcoholism and addiction to Crystal meth, Cocaine, PCP, Marijuana and other forms of speed.
Sad, but I chose that as an alternative to the abuse I suffered as a child, an "escape" I thought but actually an escalator down the the depths of human despair.
Seriously, I found peace and hope in Jesus Christ, I hope you will too
Peace

To me, sex itself isn't a sin....Only when its done where there is no love in the pre-marital union is it a sin.

No child is conceived in sin. You just go and wash your mind out and stop that kind of thinking.

It is a sin if its out of Marriage.
That doesnt mean that the child isnt/cant/wont be loved.
Thats why adoption is a loving option to abortion

Good to hear that you have had such success overcoming the problems of modern society... but please make sure that as many people as possible hear this... try to lead others onto the straight path... give hope to others whether the crack smoker in the alley of the chinks store or the child with hunger pains cause his mom wasted her pay-check on budweisers and weed...

Speer - what you fail to realize is, everyone has different views on what is right and wrong. I agree with a lot of what you say, but I don't think it's 'wrong' for someone to drink or do drugs...i just don't think it's the best decision to make. But that is my own opinion. Would I tell someone not to do drugs? Of course, especially if I thought it would **** them up even more, but it is ultimately their call.
And sex - yeah, i agree with QCubed on that one. He sums it up so nicely.

No I'm not. Children aren't sinful, they're potential. Quit picking on the kids, they can't choose the circumstances of their lives.

Yes I do share my testimony and well, its such a long way out of the Black-Hole of addiction
Yes, a lot of people do drugs and drink outside of "stores" and yes Moms (sad that someone calls themselves a Mom or a Mother when they do this, but yes Biological Mother they may be) do take away from the family by feeding the monster of addiction......
Its a weird and twisted world sir......

I like to sit on a high meadow on a slightly breezy spring day, when the temperature of the air is just right, only minimally cool to the touch. Then the breeze feels almost like an unbelievably thin stream of water gently lifting me ever so slightly off the hill side. It feels like swimming in air.
