Game Restart
The game will shortly be restarted from 2102
To deal with several issues, the game will be restarted (same start positions) with a new password. Before posting these in the private forums' threads, I'm awaiting MarkG's confirmation that your General Tacitus (who currently is listed as a co-Moderator of all the private forums) will be blocked from all but the PUT (of which he's a team member, of course)
The replay shouldn't take long - I'll be checking to ensure that moves are identical (subject to a possibly different podpop result)

New passwords have been sent to all turnplayers (Archaic, it's OK for you to post yours here now, so long as you have removed Tass5000's authorization)
The restarted Hive, 2102 has been hung on the general turntracking thread for Voltaire to download and play, so it shouldn't be long before we are back to our current point.

LOL - trust the Hive to not follow procedure!!
Archaic:
The Uni turn is now hung on the reporting thread, (and not e-mailed to you as I requested of Voltaire)

To get the ball rolling again, I played the restart turn 1 on Archaic's behalf
Scouts and CP's in the same positions as before. The podpop to the east produced a minerals special instead of a monolith, which is a downgrade given that this'll prolly be yoiur science city
(in the aborted restart - pulled 'cos i left the scout in the build instead of the former - I popped a unity rover, so I think the mineral special is the least favorable - you can always blame it on the defector, Professor Tass )
I left the energy allocation at 50/0/50, as it was giving a tech in 3 turns (with the monolith being worked) and changing to 30/10/60 still gave 3.
You will be selecting your tech to research upon the next opening.
I have a copy of the turn just before exiting - I've e-mailed that to Archaic so that he can do and hang a screenshot if needed

Oh, I don't think we'll mind the "downgrade" of a Mineral Special on rocky at all, will we gentlemen? Mine & Road both for 14 minerals w/ 2 crawlers.....oh my my my......
I'm sorry I couldn't be up and awake when you did all this, but I was sleeping off a late night. ^^;;; Anyway, posting that stuff now.

Perhaps we should let Goog pop the rest of our pods - he seems to have a talent for it.

Don't know what the others would think of that, though

I think I liked the pop of the recon rover better, though, as that's a real bonus for scoping out future base sites as well as (potentially) meeting the other inhabitants sufficiently far from bases to let defensive measures be taken if necessary
However, as I said, I'd forgotten to change the build to 'former' in that one (and I actually posted it, but managed to withdraw it brefore it was downloaded)
As you say, 2 mineral specials on rocky tiles ain't bad (but you need Ecol Eng to maximize on that)

We do? How so? Bonus Squares are allowed to violate the restrictions, unless there's something in the scenario editor to change that. We should be able to put Mine/Road on those two squares and get 7 mins from each regardless of if Mineral Bonuses are lifted or not.

Sorry - you're right (I was thinking of the situation without a mins special)
You'll get 7 mins with a mine and a road. (Without a mins special it'd be 2 then more after Ecol Eng)
