The Hive can still make one more city and backfill the landmass. Since the cities at the moment won't be larger that size 4, due to drone problems, and only one city needs large land mass, and that is the super science city which will probably be built on the flatter grounds to the west, there is still place for one for city near the hive to make use of the spare nutrient bonus, which is not used. The Hive still have its two monoliths to feed off.
Maybe a farm is needed for commie city to boost growth due to the absence of nutrient bonus?
More cities are required.

Yes, lets start some glorious social movement and give it a cool name (like Mao did in China), like decree that every base currently existing is to produce 10 bases and call it "The Expansion" or something equally as glorious.

You see wrong, Comrade Tassadar! These is no evil capitialistic Gaian architecture! This is the result of a use of the glourious zoom feature of the Hive. With the bases further in the distance, they appear to be of evil capitialistic Gaian architecture, when they are in fact the glourious underground bases of the People of the Human Hive!
Also, I dispute the claim of this so-called evil capitialistic 'white dotted line.' There is no white dotted line! The only lines I see are those of the limitless and glourious Hive! :doitnow:
I think I win the prize for most uses of the phrases 'glourious' and 'evil, capitialistic' in one post.

Hive record of most uses of phrases in one post:
'glourious': 3 - Comrade Octavian X
'evil, capitialistic': 3 - Comrade Octavian X
ps. Is that in fact grey dotted line then? And maybe not so evil capitalistic? Any guess?

Glorious Comrade Octavian X is correct! There is no evil, capitalistic Gaian bases in glorious Hive territory. All that is there is in the glorious Hive is glorious Hive bases with glorious Hive architecture. Why, our glorious comrade would never let evil, capitalistic Gaian architecs to to redesign our glorious hive bases to evil, capitalistic Gaian bases. Why, if our glorious Comrade would do that, then he might be an evil, capitalistic gaian SPY!!!

Glourious Comrade HongHu, it is my glourious opinion that the glourious dotted line you see is a glourious green color of a glourious line of the glourious Hive, a marker set be the glory of glourious Hive bases built by our glourious comrades...

Glorious Comrade Octavian X, I do not wish to disagree with your glorious opinion that most of the glorious dotted line in the glorious map of the glorious nation of the Human Hive is the glorious green color of a glorious line of the glorious Hive, a glorious marker set by the glory of glorious Hive bases built by our glorious comrades ... (Boy this sure makes it long and hard to understand) However, at the bottom of the glorious map of the glorious nation of the Human Hive just one square out of the glorious land bridge to another glorious land there does seem to be a not so glorious gray/white dotted line which indicates the possibility of an evil, capitialistic faction close by.

Hive record of most uses of phrases in one post: (recount)
'glorious': 16 - Comrade HongHu
'evil, capitialistic': 4 - Comrade (Judge) Tassadar5000
/me fainting ... indistinct voice
Can we please stop the word count now? I've already forgotten half of the joint post of IC story that I was going to write. I suspect that it will be completely gone if I read one more such glorious post.

In fact it is the same colour as your fenceposts denoting the Western and Southern borders of your faction (8 tiles from the nearest base)
If another faction (evil, imperious or otherwise inglorious) were 16 tiles away, you would see their similarly delineated border marking abutting yours (or if closer than 16 tiles, your own border would regress closer to the nearest base - the border would be 1/2 way between the two closest bases of each faction)

At risk of being accused of delusional by Comrade (Judge) Tass, I insist that it seems a different color. But my eyes may be playing tricks on me since I have been staring at the computer screen for so long. Sigh!

I think it's just a colour degradement from the paint program used to paste to the forum page
I opened the game itself to check and, believe me, it is the same colour (and it's a continuation of the border after passing through that 1 tile of sea)

Is it worth rush buying colony pod for voltario city, since it is size 2? I don't have SMAX installed so cannot see base detail.

I believe it is the plan to allow the people of Kommunizma City and Voltairograd to continue to produce formers and colony pods, respectively.
Does anyone think we need to change these plans?

Wouldn't it be better if the south rover with a green arrow goes to southeast to check out the land bridge? The other rover and scout are sufficient to check the north part, I think. Plus I do feel that the south land bridge seem to be connected to another land. Anybody disagree or agree?

The other rover is damaged. I personally think that the 2nd rover should stay on current heading get fixed then head towards the land to the north west our cities.
Exploring all the hidden parts of the planet that are nearest to our base should be a priority. This will also bring the rover closer to the new base to help to defend against mindworms or such that might appear from that direction.
Also the unit stationed in Kommunizma City should move south out of the city one sqaure, then move back to the city the next turn. It will reveal one extra square and we may be able to find out if there's any more land south of Kommunizma City.
Finally, I suggest the new city name should be "CyCon Pact". I've already stated my reasons in the city naming thread that occured a while ago.

What does the Scout Patrol Southwest of Voltairograd do?
It has no green arrows attached to it, so I guess it isn´t moving...? If so, then we should use it to explore the obvious land bridge to the south! (Like HongHu said)
I share the feeling it connects our much too small island with some bigger landmass (and most certainly another faction).

The scout, last I heard was already heading for the southern land bridge. Another reason why I suggested the rover head towards the north.

The damaged scout should head to the monolith on the south ridge of Sunny Mesa and get repaired. There isn't any fungus on its way there so it will be safe. Also this way it will be closer to both the soon to be established new bases.
This arrangement will make sure both directions (north and south) get 1 rover and 1 scout. I really hate to put all the eggs in one basket. We'll waste many precious turn advantages if the north turns to be a dead end. If we divide forces, we won't be hurt that much if either exploration is not that fruitful. My personal belief is that the north has a great potential unless it is near the south pole (I don't have SMAX so can't see for myself).
Maybe we should poll this. Looks like CC is doing lots of polls for issues like this. Maybe we should learn from them.

Talking about Cycon, looks like they have already met with another faction. I thought that the Pirates would be the first human faction to meet others due to their movability in the sea. But maybe it is them who met CyCon. Or, maybe everyone else has met somebody except us. This is why again I'm so anxious to get the rover to go south. We need to get some tech traded. Otherwise we'll stay at the bottom for some extended time. Anybody can share with me how's the power graph been moving? For example, if CyCon and Pirates rose up kind of sharply, that must mean that they have exchanged technology.

I also suggest the new base site near the south land bridge be moved one square north on the nut special square. From my disscussion thread in the Help forum, I learnt that it is a good strategy to put base on one special if there are more than one special so the base can benefit from both special squares sooner. The weakness of this is that it will not be a coastal base and therefore we wouldn't be able to lauch any ships from there. But maybe it is actually a strength that it will not be easily probed by a probe cruiser?
