i think we should treat each circumstance differently.
(although this probably wouldn't be our mentality though.... )

I would say take it on a case by case basis, but still lean toward making it difficult. Perhaps if someone wanted to defect, they could confidentially contact Googlie and he could make an assessment on whether the defection should be allowed.
