Finally firaxis is beginning to incorporate religion
Hi im new to this forum but i have been reading it for quite some time, but back to the point
After viewing the official firaxis site i noticed that they had mentioned an "islamic sultanate". it had been a long time wish for me to see some sort of religion incorporated into this game. Because as it stands today and in the past religion fuels numerous conflicts.
Its good to see a religion put in rather than just researching "monotheism" or "polytheism". Finally they are going to utilize a road that hasnt really been walked. I just hope that they use it correctly and not just turn these religious/gvts. into some sort of sixth gvt which is basically fundamentalism a la civ2.
Those are just some of my thoughts id like to hear what you think

something is better than nothing

Maybe someday you'd be able to take over a city, only to find that of its 4 Babylonian citizens, one is Jewish, one is Moslem, one is Catholic and another is Protestant. Since your own civ is perhaps Protestant, the protestant-Babylonian would not resist your rule, while the other 3 would. Then, instead of building only cathedrals (which would serve to make your catholic citizens happy), you could have a choice: do I build a mosque, cathedral, church, or synagogue?
Maybe this is a Civ 4 suggestion , but the game Europa Universalis does incorporate religion quite well. So it can be done.

They've got a whole forum dedicated to a RTS game called "Rise of Nations" Cat's already out of the bag.
As for which building to build, Quasar1011, you could just build them all and hope your people don't go ape and start burning down competing buildings. Or maybe the strength of religion could wane over the ages.

I don't think this means fundamentalism
Wording is interesting. Are there other Sultanates beside Islamic, or are there other Islamic governments beside Sultanate.. in other words, did firaxis add a new feature: two-component government, or is this just an existing government with corruption tweaked?
