March 1942: Convoys arrive!
We lose only 6 units this turn, mostly partisans
Kherson has a LOT of planes in it (more than 6 maybe)
zangalov builds barracks
ulyanovsk builds barracks
yarensk builds barracks
kubyshev builds barracks
perm builds labor brigade
disorder in perm
labor brigade from vitebesk lost
leningrad builds sea port
Siberians Airlifted to Grozny
I have a few observations to make:
*It's going to be hard to get Siberian reinforcements to the 1st Ukranian Front Quickly, they have to fly into Moscow and then take a winding road to go South, an airport in Saransk or Saratov would cut travel time down, just an idea though.
*Rostov doesn't have enough tanks, and they aren't coming up fast enough from the Caucaus.
*Outside of Archangalesk, it should be 2 Red Army and an AA battery moving south, not 4 Red Army
*The Partisans in the Marshes are being hit pretty hard, with the Germans advancing into the marshes
*I can't believe part of the Stalin Line has survived this long! (It's just north of Gomel)
*We have a single cruiser and destroyer guarding the convoys, soon we're going to need to build more escorts, simply because the transports just won't be able to get through the guantlet of German ships and planes.
*Hopefully we'll be close to Hammerfast this turn, winter will not last longer.
Commanders, please wait at least 12 hours before playing your part, please take the time to discuss strategy for your front.
COMMANDERS AND MINISTERS: Remember to post the status of who has played when you return the save.

We could fly them into Stalingrad they can easily get to Rostov or Serafimovich from there. I still think we need an airport in Chelybinsk so we can fly two Siberians in a turn. And hopefully by the end of summer there will be turns when the built units in the Urals need to be flown in two at a time.

If we are able to keep the stalin line, it becomes a Yak-9 I think
We just need more reinforcements everywhere, but you are right, Rostov is vulnerable
I already talked with comrade Yopov about Archangelsk, I don't know what he is going to do with it though
When does Summer start? In April or in May?

May, the month of May, the fifth month in the calendar year. April is the last month of winter.
Everybody got it now?

After having thought things through I've canceled the attack aimed to destroy Pskov for now, instead I'm preparing a raid on Talinn as I know by experience that the AI tends to stack it's planes there during winter often without any protection from other units.
For this reason I will also ask for a rush buy from the economic minister of one cruiser (or destroyer if that's more affordable).
Apart from this all german unit's in sight have been killed off, including the headghog off Novgorod.

Command Structure Change
Important Command Structure Change
Today I wish to announce the "retirement" of the General of the 2nd Ukranian Front, Paul Hanson. Reasons of ill health that developed this winter prompted the retirement. I want to kill the rumors right now that a General could be appointed a command and not posess the required Revolutionary fervor that is necessary to our Socialist struggle against the Fascists. The State does not make mistakes and will not tolerate such talk.
Comrade Patiskov Figiskovsky (FiGu) has accepted Rodina's invitation to serve as commander of the 2nd Ukranian Front and ascends to that position immediately.

See Econ Minister thread for Rush buys
See my thread later tonight for details.

Comrade Grenski enjoy those rubles from the trade convoy. An SU-122 was airlifted from Sverdlosk, so there are two convoys in Baku.
In the Future H I would use the Stalingrad airport. But you are right we probably need another one behind the southern front. I will look into that next turn,

Economic Report for month of March 1942:
FIRST ARCTIC CONVOY ARRIVES IN BAKU!
Delivering the equivalent of 2010k rubles!
This has allowed to economic ministry to approve ALL rush-buy requests this month (just)! (In Demyansk a KV-1 was rushbought instead of a SU-122)
Opening balance: 3096k
Closing balance: 261k
Another Convoy is expected next month so the future is bright for the Soviet economy .
Tax Rates:
Taxes: 40%
Science: 50%
Luxuries: 10%
Advanced flight III (IL-2 Shturmoviks!) will be researched next month and Economic Ministry recommends that "War Productivity" be researched next.
Road building work increasing oil production is now completed around the cities of Baku and Maikop and the labour units will be free for reassignment next month. This, combined with the continuing WLTC days been celebrated in all three oil cities of the Caucuses, mean that trade is now at an unprecedented level.
The NKVD Intelligence Agency (Apollo Program) wonder is now available to be built, but (unless we are going to mount further attacks on Norway) it won't be necessary until we enter the lair of fascist beast, which is still some time away.
