Code and Code Breaking
As the Russians famous KGB is known for intelligence and spying, the Hive should come up with our own coding system. The CyCon should not monopolise on the secrecy stakes, the Hive must compete. What I was hoping for was some friendly interfaction code breaking, so no ultra-hard encryption like 512bit key AES. We could go One-Time Pad for old time Cold War sake but that would be too mean and extremely difficult to crack, (unless someone intercepted the key).
I say we should start of easy maybe a simple subsitution cipher, although we should encrypt some of Russian and Chinese phrases to throw off people who are using frequency analysis.
If they managed to break it, we could go for Villeniuere (sp?) with a keyword.
All Hail the Glorious Hive!
key
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
funvoltairegsdqjphwkxbzymc
encrypted =
fggafigkaotqhiqxwaibo!
Now if anyone has information on how to decode the CyCon's message, feel free to add.

They are using ascii, if you see a 00010100 that is a space
They have a offset system so work from the back in 8 bit batches

Well, Comrade Vev has cracked it. We have a complete transcript of a Cycon coded message. We MUST KEEP THIS HUSHED UP. DO NOT TELL THE CYCON
I reccommend Comrade Vev for the Order Of Lenin 1st Class.

Actually it was pretty easy, it is only the offset that is confusing. If someone can find an alphabet subsitution program, that would be good. Later in the pipeline we might introduce other forms of coding once the program for it is written.

I have an Enigma Program installed in my computer. It works like the ones used in World War II. But I am not sure if this program is the one that you are looking for (Though it does Rearanges the letters around at the output)

That's cool! Can it do the 5 rotor version? The problem with Engima is that it si hard to crack by hand and unfortunately, I was hoping for code that is crackable so that people can have fun cracking it.

Excellent work, Comrdae Vev. Your work has ensured the safety of the Hive and it's people. I think if we were to make our own code, we should either create our own, or combine different codes into one. Using an Engima type code might be easy to break once someone figures out what it actually is.

What about the "Huffman" Code?
It has a simple principle of encoding and decoding, but if you are not involved in that stuff, it is very confusing (since the letters have different numbers of bits, e for example has 1bit while Z has 6 bits).
If you like, I could create a formula using this. Just tell me

We must start de-coding CyCon messages, past and present, immediately!

That will be a good idea since the CyCons are getting really into their binary talk, and the Hive must know everything!

Anybody can write a little program to decode this? It is really a hassle if we have to do it by hand.

Finally cracked another one. Seems that they have some leading numbers that you need to get rid of. Have to work now but will work on this later.

Sounds like this is pretty important stuff. Should we keep it a secret that we have cracked it?

Anyway, here's the excel file I made if anybody cares to test it out. You need to copy the code in A1 and make sure you delete all spaces so that the entire number series consist only numbers. Then you delete the leading numbers so the length of string is multiples of 8. Then you hit ctrl x, and the macro will translate for you.
Although the last message he wrote to me seems to have changed a little. Anyway, here it is. If somebody cares to monitor the progress that would be great since they may very well change their code now since I mistakenly let the cat out. Hopefully this should still work. Who knows they may not be as bright as you would think.
Now if only I can think of a way to speed my report (for work, the real world, you know) which will be needed next Monday.

Sadly I don't know java. Plan to learn it one of these days.
Problem is that I'm really running out of time. Ahhh... Will attempt to translate more later. Mean while somebody please do it? Please?

Oh here is the last one I believe
"Well done Hong Hu You seem to have got that one. However why would such a superior faction use but one? "
I'm going home really soon (3:30). That would mean that I will not be able to be online for quite some time. Time at home = time spend with children. Monday is a holiday too that means I won't have much time on line until Tuesday. Jamski do you want me email you the file so you have it in case somebody want to use it?

Comrade, I can probably do something with it. Please email the excel file to static23@softhome.net if you have time.
