Vacation destination - Rome or Paris?
After 2 years without a break, me and my wife are finally getting out this June. We're currently torn between Paris and Rome, and of course I decided to seek an aswer on Poly, doh

Yes but history doesnt translate to beaitiful city.
Paris is simply much more beautiful none theless becasue it has so much more thinsg to see.
In Rome you have ceasar's pillars the colosseum and that's about it.

I'd say it depends how long will be your holidays. I visited Rome recently, and I think it's very fine for a one or two-weeks trip (more monuments to visit, often very impressive).
However, for a longer trip I'd say Paris. If you have time, the cultural things to see there are almost endless. The Louvre museum alone can take you several days . What's more, italian cooking is quickly boring (but, that's only my opinion).

From paris I can take a TGV to brussels and rent a car to Antwerp to have a beer with Colon.
From Rome I can ehhhmmm... go to Salzburg to have beer with Roland? Too far, I guess.

I've been to both. I enjoyed Rome more. I'll concede that part of the problem might have been the weather sucked when I was in Paris.
