Well, for longest city walk I'd like to throw in my Istanbul stroll: After a visit to the Topkapi Palace, I walked from the entrance to the Palace near the Aya Sofia along the palace walls and via Sirkeci Train Station to the Egyptian Bazaar and Galata Bridge, and from there via the Galata Tower to Taksim Square, and then back again via Galata Tower and Bridge to the Suleymaniye Mosque and over the Istanbul University Campus to the Valens Aquaduct, from where I went via the Grand Bazaar to the Hippodrome and where I had diner in a little restaurant a few hundred meters behind the Blue Mosque. Took about 6 hours (9 if you include the visit to the Topkapi Palace, which is a small city in itself -- makes Versailles look like a summer cottage). Saw quite a bit of the city that day (which has some very steep hills)...

Furthest ive walked (err run most of it) in London is 26.2miles (twice), aka The London Marathon, recommend it if you want to see the sights. Starts in a big of a $h.t hole 'Greenwich' (yanks thats where we get our time from) - and meanders over around, over Tower Bridge, then round Docklands, etc etc - Finishes outside Buck House.

I'd quite like Chandos. Or the one in Canary Wharf... equally inaccessible for everyone!

How about Manhattan?
I hear GCS is a good place for loser, dweeb-reprobates to hang out and discuss subversive technologies and conspiracy theory.
And believe me, if there were public transportation from here to there, I'd be camping out right next to the vending machines.
However, THAT is an entirely different story >:·Þ

better gfx, just hang on a sec...
I like London, I just hate to fly.
Now if I had wings, I might be okay with it, but even VirgAtl can be tiresome after 10 hours.

This one will be a bit different with it being in the evening. Normally they've involved sitting in a pub all Saturday afternoon, this one presumably involves sitting in a pub on a Friday evening.
Makeo, is that a challenge?

ah ok. thing is, i'll be combining this with a visit to my nan in ruslip, who i'll be staying with. she locks her doors at about 10.30pm every night (to guard against pikies and pakis ) and is really loathe to open them. so pretty much whatever time it finishes i won't be able to get in to her house until at least 7am the next morning (no spare key :/).
so really i was just wondering how long i'll have to spend in a greasy spoon cafe reading the paper and scracthing my balls
