Shouldn't we keep track of the scores and combine them into a league or something

I was doing terrible in the early going, but a stirring comeback launched me into respectability (thanks to MtG, Fez, and Cricket ).
What, no one else thought U-571 was the crappiest big-budget movie in recent memory? (Is Battlefield Earth that recent? If so, fair enough, nothing can top it).
Only one person agreed with me about Kim Jong Il? The guy is brilliant, I'm telling you!
-Arrian
p.s. My answers:

1) U-571.
2) Sprayber
3) Fez
4) MtG
5) Cricket
6) N. America
7) Kim Jong Il, NK.

I don't think I played this right, I thought you were supposed to answer what you thought everybody else would answer, otherwise I would have said baseball.

Baseball, at least, is typically over in 3-4hrs. Cricket, on the other hand, takes what, a week to play?
-Arrian
(yeah, I know, there are 1 day matches too)

Yeah but you don't get scores of 3-1 after 4 hours.
Cricket is far more varied.

Hmmm... why not... I'll try (later) to set up a quick website, where the scores for all these games, will be kept... and the average score, for each player

I nearly went with Kim Jong, but then I thought... This is Apolyton. Irony is our national pastime. Lets get me some Bush!
yay
Does this mean I have to come up with some questions to rival that lot... And clean out my inbox...

And Titanic was 1997, meaning it was outside the timeframe. But I had faith in y'all and still picked it (though it is one of my favorite films), knowing that such niceties as being beyond the scope of the question wouldn't stop people from nominating it.

Bah!
All Hail the Dear Leader!
BE was in 2000? I wonder why I thought it was older. Anyway, fair play on that one - clearly the worst movie in recent memory.

BE must have been so bad that they didn't release it outside of the US?
I've never even heard of it.

Dammit. I knew I should have guessed W! The only question I did spectacularly badly on (ie. not first or second answer) was 2, but then nearly everyone else did too.

I did all right except for 1 question.
Curling! No one has ever watched curling?
Easily more boring than Cricket.

There's only few sports I have ever watched... well... in "watch" I mean when zipping channels on the TV... that'll be like... ehmm... 2 secs...
I have only watched:
Soccer (The one I voted for)
American Football (Much more interesting than Soccer)
Golf (Comes VERY close to soccer, didn't vote for this one, since it's not that famous as soccer)
Baseball (Also much more interesting than soccer)
...and about curling/cricket:
I've got no idea what they are about... the only place where I've seen "cricket" is in Turtles 1 (Does Casy Jones ring a bell )

Curling was too obscure a choice, Obiwan. Besides, there is a certain comedic element about it that Cricket doesn't have.

Yes. I presume that you haven't ever watched a F1-GP.
What's up with dissing Fez? I lost 9 points from that question.

Curling is great.
I voted for Golf. I'd rather watch somebody paint than watch golf.

To be honest, I like curling, I have watched the world championships and the Briers here in Canada.
One friend of mine, who is a transplanted french Canadian in Arizona got his kicks dissing Baseball as the most boring sport.
That is, until he had a chance to watch curling.
Hence my vote here.

I did pretty well, but voting for GP instead of MtG in the fourth question ****ed me royally.
I s'pose you wouldn't really need to know how to swim if you're working on a submarine. What're you gonna do, swim to the surface if the sub cracks open?

Curling is disturbingly interesting. It should be boring and stupid, but for some reason it isn't.
 ACK!
