Most ignorant nationality?
Macleans' magazine recently polled their overseas readers for "The top 10 nationalities in the world which harbour a less than progressive perception of life outside of their own respective relms"; and recieved the highest number of votes for the aforementioned nationalities
Is this a fair view from their readers? Most of the response was compiled from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and South Africa. So what does Apolyton think?

Oh I forgot to mention, Afghani and Iraqi nationalities were excluded from polling as "post war situated transitional cultures"

That's nice of them, but that kind of thread won't fly here, unless you want to name change it to something a little less baiting?
I'll give you a few to think of something else. And don't bother pulling a Zylka on me.

I don't like calling any nationality ignorant.. but the governments these nationalities could be. Take the French government for example. And the Cuban government too.. stupid communist one that Agathon is always clamoring about, which even other leftists wouldn't even think about defending.

The last thing I saw a religious preacher did was ask for $5 in a "generous pledge" to help his bank account in Zurich, erhm, some starving kids in Zimbabwe.

Isn't that just who looks down, and knows least, about other nationalities? That would be America for me, as they seem to want to change everywhere to fit their ideals, which might not be such a bad thing, but I think they look down on other nations, and know the least about them (I remember Bush not knowing the shape of the US, nor where London was not that that is a good measure of course ). Possibly Russia too.
As for most ignorant, I have no idea at all.

I have to edit the thread twice.
**********
Americans have to be the hands down winners in terms of their relative impact on the rest of the world.
Nobody is really effected much if Burkina Faso is xenophobic and utterly deluded about how the rest of the world works.

A very valid point, but I had to pick China - because that's where Chinese people come from

I'm not surprised. Post cold-war thing and the lack of democracy in Russia are probably two main reasons.
Um...Wasn't quite expecting this one, but....
I voted American The reasons are obvious: Their ignorance is causing Sep11s to happen all over the world every day.

Zylka - Did the Macleans' (Canada's weekly news magazine) article mention why they didn't survey Canadians in this poll ?!?!
... and where is the banana option ?
I would have voted for Tuvalu. Any country with less people then the office complex I work in cannot have a realistic view of nations that have "Economies", "Industries", "Tax Basis" etc.

HELLO
HELLO
Still a little confused as to why you haven't shipped your ass back to the filthy mutherland yet. Seeing as how you currently live and participate in the American fabric, those Sept. 11ths which are "happening daily" are of your partial responsibility - remember?
Is the "impoverished and angry pizza delivering immigrant" role not providing enough for a plane ticket out of the stars and stripes yet? It's just so odd!

So Zylka, weren't you one of the persons who clamoured against some other countries apparent lack of freedoms?
Such intolerance. Tsk, tsk.

Of course he has the freedom to do it, you don't have to act like a f*cking moron. The issue here is common sense, whether or not he has the ability to realize that MOVING TO, living, and taking part in the livelihood of a country that he does not support is idiocy at best. It's not my life to waste this way, I just honestly wonder whether or not Pizza Hut is paying him enough to so graciously eat his pride in sticking around on American soil
Note that MOVING TO suggests he (like many other indignant anti American immigrants) actually had a choice in the first place! Doesn't that make it all a little more pathetic? Gee, I dunno - why don't we ask the next illegal boatload of malnourished Chinese that turn up on the shores of Vancouver island?

Well good Lord, I'm sure you can see the blinding confusion this logic produces:
1 - MOVE FROM SH*TTY COUNTRY TO NICE COUNTRY
2 - DECIDE YOU DON'T ENJOY NICE COUNTRY OR WANT TO SUPPORT IT
3 - COMPLAIN
4 - WORK, LIVE IN AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE LATTER FOR SEVERAL DECADES; DIE
