I'm out Friday night. Mrs finbar's 9 Drama Dept dinner. Thankfully it's at Sydney's best Italian. Gatecrashers welcome.

Not seeds, a seedling. If you're not coming up this way soon, we'll have to organise our trip down there.

Oh okay - let's talk further about that.
My plan is to keep the seedling in the house in a sunny spot until the frosts are definitely not an issue. Will that work?
I think I'll put Mrs Horse in charge because she's better with plants than me, having grown up on a farm
Any chance of like 3 seedlings? I want to improve our odds The weather down here is unpredictable this year.
In terms of a visit, Floriade starts this weekend and our garden is coming into blossom right now.

When do the frosts finish? It shouldn't stay in its container forever. Remember you can always cover the plant in the garden - with a tented towel or blanket, or upturned bucket, whatever - to protect it from frost. This variety - Stupice - doesn't mind cold weather.

I dare say she's better than you at most things.

I've only got one Stupice - the early variety - but I've got half a dozen other varieties at seedling stage. They will take longer to produce tommys - up to 90 days. You can have a couple of them too.

I'll have to consult with the other 99% of the relationship. Mine, that is.

It was bitter cold here over the weekend and there was a big snow fall on the Brindabella Mountains all day Saturday.
Early tomato planters could be heard gently weeping.

I should be around tonight.
Your seedling continues to outgrow its container. Must organise a handover.

Okay. I spoke to Mrs Horse and we'd love to see you down here in Canberra, this time and Autumn are the best time to come, but if that it not doable no problem at all - we can make other arrangements.
With the drought and the fires the spring bloom has been a bit disappointing this year but its still nice to see some colour around. Its been a bad year otherwise.
The late snow falls would definitely have claimed the stupice if I had planted it out. The brass monkeys all left town last weekend.
I reckon on or after the October long weekend should be safe for planting.

Okay. Mrs finbar knocks off from 9 at the end of the month - she's off to produce a telemovie - and I think she's going to take a short break in between. I think the long weekend is October 6th, which sounds very feasible. I'll run it past her. I'll bring down a bucket of gloriously prepared tomato-friendly soil into which the seedling can be planted.
