Hey hey hey, nice to see some people around my age play this games. I'm 31 and browse and post this forum at work.
Maybe we, the 30 something player should unite and create a clan called "30UP" hehe.......

Oh, you won't have time! But why should that stop you? Hasn't stopped me. Of course, I can't do the on-line stuff these days with two kids. I really do miss that. I used to *love* my clan games back with AoE...

Amen to that
uglyduck: I hope when I hit my 60's I'll be able to still play computer/video games. Keep on gaming.
Me I'm 36 and love browsing the forums while at work then going home to play. That's of course when my kid goes to bed and the wife says it's ok!!!

This is a great thread. Funny thing is, I checked it while at work, (am 34), and couldn't stop laughing.
Just classic!
On a side note, when WarCraft 3 was released, and I consistantly kept getting my butt handed to me in skirmish games against the A.I. , I thought my days of RTS gaming were over. "Well, I guess it's Age of Wonders II for the rest of my life" is what I thought. Thank BHG for Rise of Nations. "Hello RTS, I'm back baby!"
Oh, and I am totally up for the idea of the 30 - 40 year olds getting together for some multiplayer.... would be great!

It's a good thing for Apolyton that our employers don't let us play at work - otherwise no one would be on the forums.

I'm 17, and I got RoN about two weeks ago.
I must say, I didn't think it'd be this fun. It's a real shame I've had finals these last few days, else I'd be a much better RoN player...oh well, summer time will afford me the opportunity to improve upon my skills.
I absolutely love the fact that you don't have to micromanage a la Warcraft 3. It's not like I couldn't micromanage very well, it's just that it's an inane waste of time. Seriously, who the hell wants to continually tell specific units what to do? It becomes less of a game and more of a job when that happens, and that's why I'm both severely disappointed with WC3 and surprisingly elated with RoN.
I hope BHG makes an expansion with more nations, more UU's, more wonders, more maps, and more buildings (maybe even more ages, like the 'post-apocalyptic age' on one of the threads here [search it out if you're interested]!)

When your partner buys you games for your birthday I don't think that the having to justify playing games to her is that serious.
I'm 33 too, which seems to be the average here .
Yes a 33up mp game, we play it on slow setting now heh

Yes a post-apocalyptic age. After armageddon. All players start with a village, three farms, a woodcutters camp, slingers and hoplites again.

With gasoline/petrol as a resource so that you can power your Mad Max-style vehicles.
