Does anybody watch "The West Wing"?
It just came to mind when I read that other thread on series and I thought of a certain Thanksgiving episode... Really, that series just restored my faith in American series absolutely and completely! I watch comedy sitcoms like the Simpsons etc. as well, but this is the only serious (semi-serious ) series that I can't bear to miss. To the huge amount of Danes who will read this thread, they just started from episode one on DR2...
Or maybe this thread will be short-lived?

I'm a big fan...but here in the UK they swtiched it from primetime Saturday evening (9pm) to gone 11pm on Monday after viewing figures fell at the beginning of the third series. Sure, the first three episodes of that series were weaker than root beer, but it picked up again.

I bet the viewing figures really picked up after that move.
I vicously roll my eyes ( ) at people in this country who automatically dislike any American TV other than Simpsons, ER and Friends ... and maybe a couple more ... like Frasier .... anyway, why no Seinfeld in a decent/regular time slot?! Why?!

I can't stand it. I've tried to watch it a few times but get sick to my stomach after the first ten minutes or so.

I used to love that show. Especially the hot secretary and the lone republican they had working for the administration. Amy Hayes or something like that was her name.
Now if I could find naked pictures of them.
It was a great show in the beginning. But without Rob Lowe, I definately won't watch. I was never a big fan of Martin Sheen. The other actors on the show were top notch though.

I like it a lot. Although Martin Sheen may have been written out as well. Interesting choice for the Speaker of the House as stand in President. We will have to see.

We're so far behind you, I didn't even know he had left Oh well one of my fav shows, and for America it's leftist, but over here, it doesn't strike me as too far left-wing.

actually he just left this past season.
2 if the biggest reasons to watch.
As for the Guys Rob Lowe is great. And the chief of staff, deputy chief of staff are pretty good. The other speech writer guys- Robert Schiff is a pretty good actor. I liked him in the first season with the episode with the dead homeless guy who was a veteran.

On another note, Dissident dude, you should try checking out the PJ song "Dissident". I hear the opening riff in my inner ear every time I see one of your posts

Zoey was kind of cute as well. maybe I'll try to dig up one of her pictures as well.
It's funny that the black kid didn't come onto the show until later. Very shortly after some complaints by the black community about lack of african/americans on some proiminant networks. Hmmm.
Although Friends still lacks any blacks in it as well as most other NBC shows
PJ? oh I just noticed it stands for pearl jam on a kazaa search. I may have heard it, I'm checking it out now.
And I like Marlee Matlin as well. She was good as the mayor of Rome on Picket Fences.

Sorry, there are two problems:
(1) No, she's not 'cute'
(2) If TV-programs objective is to tease your ****, then why won't simply switch to porn?

The best version of "Dissident" is from Fox Theater, if it's available.

That depends on many factors... plausibility of the show, to name one (which it lacks a lot, already).

I've watched it a few times... but usually I get turned off by the Republican bashing .
Though it was great when Matthew Perry was the Republican and he was dishing it out as well .

Not at all Imran, we've just reached half ways into the second season, and now it seems we're starting all over again with a midnight episode every day. Turning on national television is like a box of chocolates, it seems.

Its a good show, but you can't really watch these shows for the politics since I'm sure there's some committee of people trying to figure out the least offensive material to put in. I think the characters are great though.
Generally I get annoyed if a show has too many pretty people, I like realism and generally the majority of a white house staff is butt-ugly. I love when a show has the guts to cast ugly characters, NYPD Blue used to be good like that, now its just ridiculous. Like you'd ever find that many hot women, and men, in a NYC detective squad.
I watched the first couple of episodes of that show about an independant senator and the politics made me barf. He was basically a Democrat except he was for drilling in Alaska which I guess was a concession to the Republican viewers?

The main problem about the West Wing is that it tries to make out that everyone is nice and good and wonderful and squiffy and fluffy and...

Well at least every Democrat is nice and good . Every Republican is evil and bad, except a select few .

hey I did find some topless photos of Emily Proctor- Ainsley Hayes in the show.
She was in the movie breast men with David Schwimmer.
So one thing good came out of this thread. I can't post the photo in this thread though
