So you like OS X's Dock but have a PC?
Here you go: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...fid=1037167525
Freeware, under 1MB, just like Apple's dock. You can put Docklings in it, configure just about everything, and it has all of the glitz and glamour of Apple's, and it's even hardware-accelerated.
I actually use it. It makes for a nice hidden-quicklaunch bar, I put a very tiny one (height of the window title bar) in the top center and put it on auto-hide and made it 100% transparant
It's only a program launcher, though -- you still use the taskbar to control running programs (thank God).

Yeah, there's no background on it, just the icons.

So Apolyton's Number One Dock hater gets himself a Dock. Wonders will never cease.
In the interests of objectivity I'd like to point out that it is easy to control apps using the Apple Dock.
But you knew that didn't you, Ashboy.
bwahahahahahaha!
Nice one Fez.

Eh? I hate the Dock because of how it mixes running/not running programs. I told you that.
This doesn't mix them.
It may be "easy" to control both with the dock, but that doesn't mean it's not stupid and less-functional.

Agathon, that was wrong of me to say. I didn't mean any harm.
So please be quiet. You are loud and obnoxous.

You, calling someone else obnoxious!?!?!? I guess you took the hypocritical oath.
There's a lesson for people here. If someone calls you a silly name, don't express your displeasure - it only encourages them more.
I can't see what's utterly offensive about Ashboy - but then again I've no idea why he calls himself Asher. I seem to remember him saying his name was David.

It's not offensive, it's just...excessively silly.

Yes, but the silly is often more irritating.
Go on! Tell us. You've built it all up now, so you can't back out. It can't be stranger than using the name of a second-rate homosexual Greek tragedian, can it?
While you're at it - how about a full size pic of the Windows "Dock" the screen shot on the developer site isn't very good.

Well, in summary, it was originally going to be my middle name, but it wasn't. But because my first name is so common, people frequently refer to me as Asher IRL (though far moreso online since I use it as a nick).
Here's how my Dock is configured as of this moment. It's quite configurable in the options, plus virtually everything can be modded easily by replacing the PNG files as needed. You can even select your own program icons using any-sized PNGs that you want.

Well it gives us something to do until Asher posts his desktop with the dock.
And it bumps it .

No one is getting at you. We just want to know where Asher's name came from. It is such an unusual name, after all. Having said that I can't see why someone would call themselves "Fez".

I told him he reminded me of the character "Fez" off That 70s Show, and that's what he changed his name to (and avatar).

Re: the Dock
Looks good actually. Are there any problems with resizing the icons or are you restricted to certain sizes?
Actually, I quite like the XP icons. But then again, they were designed by the Iconfactory which has a lot of nice stuff.

Well David you weren't the first one who told me that. Three weeks before it was brought up here somebody in my school thought of it and decided to put it in the school newspaper. Right after the newspaper was released, everybody started calling me Fez...

You're not restricted to any size, but the PNG files you used should be square in ratio for it to look non-distorted.

There's also high-res versions of them out on the net (128x128, 256x256) for people who find the stock ones pixely.

It's a Hebrew name, technically. Or at least it's most common that way.

Where?
I usually custom make my own icons by combining free ones from xicons, but I wouldn't mind messing around with the winXP icons.
Do you have a link for the hi res versions?
Thanks in advance if you do.

They used to be linked on the old www.samurize.com page, but they just redid it and ditched the links it seems... Or their links section isn't back yet.
