Greatest heroes and villains of all time
I watched AFI's greatest heroes and villains last night on CBS. Ther name is pretty self-explainatory of the premice of the show.
Im content with their opinions in general, tho i would have swithced the order up a lot, personally (the wicked witch of the west is ranked way too high IMO). And im sure they left out some must haves, but I havent thought about it much.
Here's the list:

i think they put WAY too many villains on the list form the archetype of psycho woman who are wives or moms. They have like 5 or 6 of these

Perhaps they alloted the number of characters per archetype to be proportional to the number of those villains in real life (hence the excessive number of psycho women)?

I'd have put HAL 9000 at #1 and Darth Vader at #2 on the villians list.

Polls like this work well in informal settings like Apolyton, but have absolutely no point in the wider world.
How dumb are these guys anyway? The T1000 in Terminator 2 was far better than the Arn in T-1. And Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein would doubtless find it amusing that they were regarded more as movie heroes.
It's also notable that the opinion that Gordon Gekko is a villain is not shared by everyone.

Gecko is most certainly a villain! In any case, I was a bit dissapointed by the list as well. I mean, cruella de ville??? Come on! If she doesn't scare you, then you're completely normal!

The alien in Alien? Nope, sorry, that wasn't even the actual villain in that film -- Ash was.

...and, whatever else, Hans Gruber and The Joker should be higher than the Wicked Witch.

What about Ian McKellan's Richard the Third? He beats the sh!t out of at least 90% of the list. AFI is crap.

You would have been quite correct if the list is properly titled "The greatest fictitious heroes and villains in Hollywood movies according to AFI."
What the hell is AFI? And how do you have "greatest villains?"
