Patch messed up the messages?

Ack! I installed the CTP 1.1 patch and now my messages are all messed up, there are a bunch that say "Gaia controller" and a lot of the pop ups to not make sense, talking about nations that do not exist and general wierdness...is this a normal side effect of the patch?

In other news, I managed to run the Ruskies off the map finally

I get a kick out of them being so willing to want a cease fire with each city they lose to my ravanous Vikings.

Yes, this is a side effect of installing the patch. You can get it back to normal thus:
1. Open the chat window by pressing the ' key.
2. Type /reloadslic
3. Press enter
4. Close the chat window by cliking out of it onto the map, then pressing ' again.

Note that you only have to do this for your old savegames. New games you start shouldn't have any problems.
