New: Apolyton University Directory!
If you hadn't noticed before, there's an Apolyton University Directory located in the Apolyton directory at files/civilization III/Apolyton University. It's been there for about a month but it didn't have the AU courses in it yet. I had some spare time today so now it's complete with all courses to date.
That's right, we now have a whole directory to ourselves where anyone looking for Civ III games and interesting scenarios to play but hasn't heard of the strat forum can find them and their descriptions quite easily.
This is a very convenient way to see all of the scenarios created without looking at each individual thread and also a convenient way to quickly download any scenario you might want to play.
Those of you who created the scenarios might notice that the descriptions look familiar.
Any and all comments welcome.

Great work.
Suggestion : Add the names of the creators & the date created before the description. The creators ought to be given credit for their tremendous effort. Thanks.

Better yet, maybe it is time for a standalone section for AU.

That is a great idea. I'd been haunting 'Poly for quite a while before registering, but until Badams52 put the AU History 101 thread up (and it got topped), I had no clue where to find the AU courses (my own fault because I didn't search for them too well ).
The only fault I see is that the AU courses are designed for strategy discussion. If they receive their own forum, etc. independent of the strategy threads then will other newbies be able to find them without being directed there by someone who knows? There is a lot of good strat info in the spoiler threads.

Hmm, perhaps have a topped thread in the strategy forum to point the way to AU course strategy? Just trying to think of newbies here. I know I could have used some help before the AU101 thread, I just didn't bother to register and post a question about it.

just checked out the AU directory again (i'll try the next game, OCC and permanent war are too difficult for me ).
i'd suggest adding the AU mods too - without the scenarios (killer AI stuff, etc).

Rush, I like your idea, consider it done. I'll (hopefully) get to it later tonight.

saberwolf: What an excellent Idea! Adding the AU mods is next on the list.
Rhothaerill, It wasn't easy finding all of the AU courses. Needed help from other before me as well.
I'm not sure what you want by AU course strategy? Do you mean the spoiler threads? Those are in AU History 101. If you mean actual threads talking about strategy (not necessarily related to AU), there's another topped thread for those. If you're talking about threads about strategy on how to beat an AU course, well, we really only have the spoiler threads. Except for AU 105

i've seen, they've been added
unfortunatly the CODE part didn't work for the "build often, build never" part.
also, links to the corresponding threads would be nice (maybe i just couldn't find those links?)
but anyway: i gave 5 starts to both

Unfortunately, unless someone tells me otherwise, descriptions don't have the VB codes the message boards do.
The links to the original threads you're asking about is where you go when you click on the "discuss" link. In all dir entries, those links take you to an appropriate thread.

ah yes, my bad... sorry
VB codes obviously don't work. maybe a csv (comma delimited list) would be better?
but not so important. one can always read the original thread...
