@Curt: Yeah, for the Icons.gof file, city improvements
@Smiley: Do you mean how do I keep the game strategic with only a limited number of cities?
Well, take for example the benefit that the Allies had after they took North Africa in the reall WW2. There were no large population centers or industrial projects, only some desert. This may seem trivial from an immediate standpoint, but taking North Africa allowed the allies to bomb Italy, France, cut off a theater of war to the Axis, and to make some outstanding raids on the Baku oil fields.
In this scenario the same will hold true. You must hold the territory with airfields, bunkers, and some new "land carrier" cities (that's what I mean to fill the map up a bit) in order to keep the enemy at bay. Otherwise, you're going to have B-29s buzzing Lower Bavaria. There is enough room in North Africa, Northern South America, and Central America to warrant this sort of strategy. I will include plenty of goodies and fun stuff to keep you occupied in the "outlier territories" so don't worry to much about not having any cities to take, in say, Chad or the Amazon Basin.

By now I'm sure there are a few of you that have been saying: When the hell is this guy going to get this thing done?
Well the answer is sometime. Sometime before Christmas. But just to wet your palette, here's a screenshot of some of the graphics that I've put together. Some are my own, and some have been borrowed, in their entirety or at least partially.
I do have an invitation to give out. I need two maps made and someone to design some terrain that resembles the sides of buildings. The more seemless the better. If anyone is up to it, please PM me.
Here's your screenshot.

Looking VERY fine. Though I would substitute the name Kalingrad with Königsberg as Kaliningrad is the Soviet name given to that city after 1945.

@Harry:
I agree with Jim, Königsberg was the name that it would have in this situation.

Denmark and Sweden looks a bit crappy on the map, if you mind me say so, especially the island in the Baltic. Otherwise I love your graphics

Curt, got your icons, they look pretty good, but I may go for a flashier movie icon. Like one of the Aztec movie theaters from the 40's.
Does anyone want to contribute a few "weapon" units? I need a singular grenade, pineapple and German alike, plus some tracer bullets, and a warhead for the panzer faust and bazooka. Oh, and a flare.

I don't read scenario threads very often.
Great! I should have the final release done soon(-ish)... Including a readme with info for both the scenario makers and players!
E-mail me if you need it before I "release" it (i.e. post a new thread and put it on my website).

@Arthedain: I'm already placing units on the board and I think any editing will have to be done during the playtesting phase. This sucker is already taking a lifetime and restructuring the map to be more realistic after I've already started thinking strategically would just be to much to contend with. I'll give you a buzz when I get to the pt phase and we can see what can be changed then.
@Mercator: Don't wait on me! Being the first to use it in a scenario would be great but I can't give you a clear date yet. Thanks anyways
Here's my concept for the "detailed mission" portion of the scenario. Basically, it's combat in close quarters. If anyone can guess what I'm planning when I say I need "grenade" units I'll name a character after you.

Wow, indoor combat! I take the walls are land, and the ground is sea to keep the ppo from walking through walls?

Obviously your infantry(naval units) have the carrier flag and can thus "carry" grenades(misile units) which can be thrown at enemies, reditributed among team members etc.
EXCELLENT IDEA!

I agree. It's like when Harlan had Frodo carrying the ring to Mount Doom in his LotR scenario

I won't be waiting on you... I meant it rather the other way around. There's a chance CivSwap's release is still going to take a long time to finish. But I'd be sure to work a bit harder if you would need it earlier.
BTW, that indoor shot reminds me of Wolfenstein.

Thanks guys! You're right on all fronts. I may bring the grenade down to a smaller level of attack though. Hmmmm, ok... Sergeant Smiley, Major Gerry Anderson, Captain Palaiologos, Lieutenant Arthedain. Might have to make Curt and Mercator Generals of some kind due to their seniority...
It's really amazing what you can do with the graphics. There is a limit though, my terrain, in order for the walls to be nice and uniform is a little bit piecemeal. I'll keep trying to hone it down to an art though. A note to others, this same sort of effect could probably be done through the use of allied units for the walls. You still wouldn't be able to walk through the units, same as the terrain. In fact, if the layout gets to complicated I may have to start placing unit "fixtures" and "spackle" units to fill in spots. Or just switch to units period.

Hmmm, ok, I was doing a small run through the regular game to test a few things out and it seems the barbarian cities have the ability to research. In fact, they acquired a few techs. I've never seen that before.

The Barbs do some research in the game, if the conditions allow.
If possible, give all advances a starting tech that the Barbs can't get.
That way, those renegades will sit and research future tech all day.
I find the Twice and Once Removed system by Gothmog to be most useful in restricting tech usage.
My eagerness to play this scenario is bubbling over!
PS
Can't I be an Axis soldier/general too?
(Feel free to have me killed off!)
