@Cifer:
You shouldn't be able to attack the eastern allies until Barbarossa is ready...
And if that trigger isn't there, the USSR gets first-strike at Germany.
Not really good since it is Germany that has launched the attack!
If you wan't to make a wav, go ahead!
That would be way cool!

If you took it before Sept 1940, that is too easy.
Anytime after would be acceptable.
Germany did come very close to invasion.
If a SAM type thing in London will make capture tougher, I'll add it.

Before y'all begin, allow me to repost the zip-link on the 1st post.
Just to fix a tech icon and a few mini-issues!
Just a tick...

Nothing would make me happier than you to play, but that means you have to play, OK?

Open the thread now, that will give us time to collect players as Curt makes the changes.
It may take a few days.
Just put in there that there is a scenario but Curt is tweaking it.
And put a link to here in the first post.

OK, beta v2.0 is ready to be grabbed!
Fixed Eastern allies, now they are unattackable until barabrossa.
Fixed London, now it is a huge size 52 city, no city walls (too big, and any reduction in size will be civilian losses)
London now was AA defence and naval defence.
Industry tile now has a big (40 )bonus. Makes it worth fighting for...
I suggest everyone plays a few rounds of the scenario individually, before a PBEM starts.
This is in case I have missed anything, or any game issues crop up...
And yes, I will remain loyal to the PBEM, seeing as the neutrals have nothing to do except be polite to the uber-powers.

Thanks Curt!
I still say we start a PBEM. Lets just put in a caveat that we may have to restart because this is a Beta test.
We did that for Academia's Iron Curtain.
But by all means I agree we should all, play SP and see what happens.

Curt did you just update the first post with the new files?
Maybe you should make a note when you updated the first post. That way we will know if everyone has the correct file if we get a PBEM going.
Also what did you change? .scn? Anything else.?

Thanks, conmcb25!
OK, if everyone would like to DL the game-files now,
as at the time of this post I have put up a fresh zip.
Main change: industry tile is now 20 trade, to avoid unbalancing things.
PS
I have found a rather wonderful bigger map, and I am currently working at 'gulag' speed to get this map filled
with cities!
It is NOT a giga map, but it is more expanded and earth-like.
In fact it is really earth like!
Not sure who made it, but it is a winner.
It represents Europe, Eurasia and the Americas far better, with a huge oceanic mass and polar areas!
Imagine the battles!
I also want to allocate the tundra tile for 'oil' as opposed to the swamp 'industry'...
This is for when nuclear fallout happens, I don't want the map to spawn new oil tiles everywhere.
So excuse me if I dissapear for a day or two.
As I think the full release will use this excellent map!
And perhaps Soviet Steel V2 will too!
I'll still check in to answer questions about DV2 and whatever.
But keep in mind that this version is the beta, and made to display the graphics and unit balance.
All data will be used in the full release on the new big map.

OK maybe we should wait for the big map to PBEM.
When you are ready let us know and we can start.

What about the new map? You said a day or two? I would rather wait for that unless you think it is going to take longer.
Whats the story?

The map might be done by mid-week, next week!
All the other work is done.
It's a case of placing units.
If you can wait some extra days, I reckon it will be worth it.
The new map has much more space and scope for naval/air tactics...

Here some sounds my friend and I made. The quality is poor I fear - but perhaps you can use it. But things like weapon-sounds have to be added. Try it - and laugh if you want...
