I feel so weird. Today's games just... don't seem interesting to me
I was looking forward to Civ3 and RON. The former had a very short grace period before I got fed up, and the latter screwed up my computer so I ripped it back out again.
Mostly these days I play X Wing vs TIE Fighter against my brother, and maybe a hotseat game of Civ2 in one of the scenarios from the internet (still haven't finished my old scens yet).
Half Life 2 sounds like it's good, as does Deus Ex 2. I'm keeping an eye on them both because they both built off of very good prequels.
Thief 3 will be excellent if it follows the example set by Thief 1. Thief 2 was much more loosely fitting and it hurt the amazing continuity that made the first game so good.
I usually like FPSes but ever since I became a grad student, I really don't play that much anymore.
Oh, and my brother got a GameCube as well, so that's another source of gameplay.

Morrowind: Bloodmoon
Victoria
Charriots of War
Temple of Elemental Evil sounds interesting simply because of the size of the thing (from memory).
Possibly Deus X2/the new Thief, if I like the originals (which I haven't got yet).
and perhaps NWN (for SP/module play only) once the expansion/s is/are out.
Not to mention Candle'Bre of course ...
All that and I still have to find time for EU2 (only just finished my first GC), HoI (only just downloaded 1.05), Moo3 (still in my first game post code-patch), Galciv (barely touched due to time pressure), and the1.10 patch for DiabloII (ie: all of the mods that are just waiting on it).
It just aint fair.

Ahh! I did forget Homeworld 2, which is due out not too far in the future.
I 'might' even go for MS Flight Sim: Century in Flight. It looks interesting.

That's one slow plane. Does it take a decade to land?

EA Sports' NHL 2004.
Yeah, yeah, I know Sega's NHL 2KX is series is supposedly superior, and I think it is in everyway except for the thing that counts most: gameplay. Sure, it's fun, but all hockey games are fun; the EA game is REALLY fun.
I hope they add in some advanced stat tracking and beef up some of the management stuff a bit (trade draft picks, which was in the computer version, oddly), and make the game run a little more smoothly (less slowdown from repetitive in-between segments).
I'd also like to see an expansion mode, but that's not imperative.
Also, it should be a bit harder. I can beat the hardest difficulty nearly every time with ease. That shouldn't happen.
