Unofficial - Future society
We probably won't even have to worry about this (and if we do it won't be for ages), but from an ideological/philosophical viewpoint it might be interesting. What future society should the Hive aim for?
Eudaimonic - Marx's glorious far off utopia?
Here's what the data links had to say about Eudaimonic: Perhaps the most pleasant to contemplate living in, this far future society takes its name from an ancient Greek word for fulfillment and happiness. Eudaimonic society encourages each citizen to achieve happiness through striving to fulfill completely his or her potential. Population, Economy, and Industry all experience healthy growth. Violence fades as society grows more tolerant and just, and even when this society's hand is forced it often shoots to subdue rather than to destroy.
Thought Control - who needs a real utopia when you can make people think they're living in one?
Here's what the data links had to say about Thought Control: The ultimate in "Big Brother" methods, Thought Control effuses subtle neurochemical triggers into the atmosphere to render its population obedient, loyal, and resistant to outside ideas. But significant resources are required to maintain this level of control.
Cybernetic - I can't think how a cybernetic future fits in with any strand of Hive thinking, but it's a choice anyway.
Here's what the data links had to say about Cybernetic: In the far future, citizens may turn many of the tasks of governing society over to artificially intelligent computers, increasing efficiency and freeing individuals for more creative tasks. But will workers displaced by computers sink into despair, poverty, and possible unrest?

Personally Eudaimonia and that seems to suits the Hive's philosophy too, but Thought Control works just as well. If we are cybernetic, we would end up Borg-like without all the pasty skin problem (actually the lack of sunlight may still give Hivian pale skin)

Eudaimonic ideally, but leave Thought Control on the table.

Oops, I accidently voted Cybernetic.
I meant Eudaimonic, then Thought Control if necessary. Cybernetic is of little us to us, except mabe the +2 research.

Lal's minister of finance - Well, I don't think that's so democratic....
Lal - *Thought controls his finance minister*
Lal's minister of finance - Sure!

Wow, the Hive is turning out to be a rather ideal communist society!
Comrades I declare that we have reached true communism! The dream of so many back on old Earth has finally taken form here on Planet.

Note : Many factions can run Democracy AND Thought Control at the same time. Or Police State and Eudiamonic. How does THAT work, eh?

Democracy & Thought Control:
Everyone is forced to have free speech and failure to comply will result in mandatory debating participation. Anyone thinking of becoming a despot or a dictator will have their thoughts overridden with Ayn Rynd philosophy.

No, that's more like Democracy combined with a FreeMarket Police State.
Democracy & Thought Control: The govenment controls the minds of the people to make them vote for the same government again. The President controls the minds of the Government to make them think they are running the country. The scientists who invented it us it to get lots of sex

We probably won't get the option, because SMAX doesn't like to let you get two "white" techs in a row (or any other colour) But we might get lucky...
