That's nothing. The leader of the main oposition party some time ago went to play football (and of course invited all the TV channels) only to miserably slip during his very first effort to shoot a the ball. He fell wickedly to the ground and teared the tenontas ( a major muscle of the leg).

the cameras were all to happy to record all of that of course.

The poor guy the pain was immense

Looks like Segway isn't idiot-proof after all.

It's for people too lazy to walk- perfect for us Americans

This could be great for handicapped and senior folks, but I sure as hell hope it doesn't catch on, and these things start clogging up sidewalks everywhere.

Its a way to get there faster by using motorized trasnport, but on the sidewalk and nto the street. One of the guys I saw using one was going pretty fast. I still can't imagine spending 5000 dollars on it though. WALK!

It is an attempt to disguise the dorky as "innovative". Basicly, it's just an oddity that the inventor thought he'd be able to sell.

I don't see segway riders as being a big hit with ladies over the age of 14 or so.

I don;t know about that: both men I saw using it did not look like the type who might have problems getting women. Of course, unlike with Motorcycles, mopeds, and cars, you won't be able to give your secial one a ride in it with you: no room for two.

After the incident, President Bush demanded Segways wolrdwide stop their practice of aggressively pitching their riders into the dirt within 30 days or he would take military action.

Bush's Segway is currently being interrogated at Guantanamo to see what it knows...

Maybe, we should ask somebody that has ridden one. Maybe they take a little practice.

ACK!

It is quite heavy to lug around (like up some stairs), and doesn't go very far on one full charge.

I saw W falling off this thing on TV. I was thinking, "Man, he's clumsier than his old dad!"

the only way for segway to succeed or be useful if for them to replace cars in busy cities.

People would supposedly use segways in place of cars to get around. They shouldn't be on the sidewalks.

The only way to make them work is to ban cars from city streets or have segway only lanes.

Segways aren't as easy as we are led to believe. Does anyone remember the first time they tried to use a floor buffer?

When you pressed the button for the very first time did you have it perfectly balanced or did it jerk to one side?

they usually jerk to the right because they rotate clockwise. That will definately happen if you don't have you hands on the handlebars.
