Scout orders
Several of our scout patrols have come to a point where they can move into different directions. Therefore I thought a poll was fitting. The scout patrols are: - Two northern scouts
- One eastern scout
- One southern scout
For one northern scout patrol I have created the options: - Move into red direction
- Escort colony pods and act as temporary garrison
- Write-in
For the second northern scout patrol I have created the options: - Move into dark blue direction
- Move into light blue direction
- Escort colony pods and act as temporary garrison
- Write-in
For the eastern scout I have created the options: - Move into yellow direction
- Move into green direction
- Move into brown direction
- Move into purple direction
- Write-in
For the southern scout I have created the options: - Move into puke direction
- Move into orange direction
- Move into white direction
- Write-in
Three days poll.

Hmmm... Poll results are even except for the southern scout. Is there a kind soul around who would like to act as a seventh voter?

Actually, the let the prime function got two votes, from people who may also have voted for one of the others (in case it didn't win). As I didn't vote, feeling it to be inappropriate, I suppose I get to break the tie, also as the director in question.
Therefore, the scout 1 moves in red direction, while the other scout will help CPs. The eastern scout will pop the pod and then move along the purple.
As the new turn shows, we have either the Mainfold Nexus or the Unity Wreck to the south, as there is debris

Oooooo indeed! What benefits a unity chopper, or a unity core, or the +1 planet could yield would certainly help us very much.

Unfortunately it's the Manifold Nexus. The terrain information tells us so. (I hope that doesn't mean the Progenitors will first land near us. ) Now that the scout movements have been more or less decided, Drogue, please don't forget to adapt the route of the first northern scout. That scout is currently moving to Pi Square instead of following the red coastal route.

Progs aren't in the game - the AI is the Angels and Believers
My "View from the Top" thread fiction is just so that a cloaked scoutship can get into orbit and then I can comment on some macro information as a sort of "Narrator" role
And you don't think I'd put the Angels in as an AI faction woithout giving them the wreckage and the landing co-ordinates to beeline their probes to, do you?

I just certainly hope you haven't placed the Hive near the Monsoon Jungle, nor the Drones near the Uranium Flats.

Maniac: Is there a need to hit the coast above Pi Square? With 2 votes for letting PF decide, and it only being equal, without an option to follow red but via Pi Square, it coule be argued the other way. Besides, I think people would vote for red to explore the bit below AP, rather than the coastal bit there, especially without a Pi Square option. Is there a use in going via the coast and taking 5 2/3 turns rather than 2 2/3 turns to get to Pi Square, just to see a couple of sea squares? I don't think so, but I will go by what people want.

*shrugs* It's not that important to me, though I have a slight preference for following the long route. What are the others' opinion?

I don't agree with your logic. Six people have voted in the poll. Of those two voted for the "Let the Prime Function decide"-option. There are exactly four votes for each scout order. The most likely thing here is that none of the "Prime Function"-voters voted for concrete scout orders. Anything else would have to be really coincidental.

Good point, forgot it shows number of voters
Why a preferance for the long route? It doesn't matter so much, but is there a reason to?

Well, simply to explore those two tiles. Not much reason I know, but there isn't that much else to do for the scout patrol right now. We have scouts exploring in all available directions. It would take ages for the scout to reach new unexplored areas. Also, right now there aren't any new bases to garrison or CPs to escort, so a three-turn deyour doesn't matter right now.
Or we could just follow your plan and let a foil explore the tiles in some future.

Have sent them to explore the extra two squares. The other northern scout is headed towards the CP about to be built in AP.
