Why won't Paint let me save as a JPEG?

Windows ME should still have the .jpg or JPEG formats shown in paint. Also you could type in the .jpg extension when saveing.

also give this a try. It is a freeware program. I saved it to my desktop and just run it when i want to take some screen shots. The program runs in your taskbar and when you hit the Print Screen key it will open. You can select a specific area of your screen to capture and you can edit things like color, scale, etc. Also you can click save as and choose any number of file types.

I'm using Windows XP, but the jpg option was on my previous Windows 2000 and Windows 95 before that. Never had ME, so I can't help out there. You might find the files are on the ME CD, though.

I have dl'ed a different freeware program that lets me convert graphics.
