How good are you at SMAC, honestly?
Just a quick survey to see how talented our team is. Please vote truthfully, there's no shame in being a regular Citizen level player... and if you are you don't have to admit it was you who voted that option...

I voted for "I not only beat the AI, but I kick arse in Multiplayer too" I always beat Transcend, I play all kinds of challenges and I have only lost one MP game (to Lazerus, who has never lost in MP) I've really been wasting my life, eh?
/me really loves SMAC

I voted "I ALWAYS win at Transcend", but I've never played against a human player, so you can take that with a grain of salt.
Anybody who reads the techniques in AC-Strategy and elsewhere, and applies them can jump from Librarian to Transcend fairly quickly, as I did.
I played the game at Librarian for a long time because I didn't seek out extra information on how the game works. Just knowing about ecodamage or crawlers really changed my game.
But I only play for fun and don't go for the challenges, don't squeezing out every last drop of turn advantage, don't have the tech tree memorized, etc.
I would consider myself an advanced player, but more tuned to single player than multi.

Voted "always win on transcendence", though my strategy is much less refined against human opponents.

Never actually finished a game with the AI. Play at transcend, but when I realize it is just a matter of waiting for my units to sweep across yet another land mass until I wipe the other factions off planet i stop and start a new one. Thus, I really don't know much about later game as I have never let it last that long. As for multiplayer... ppl just seem to surrender after I cripple them the Glorious Comrade Chairman can attest to this.

Librarian here.
I've beaten it on Transcend ONCE, but i think that was out of sheer luck. I didn't get planet bustered that much in that game.
Librarian is the constant for me.

Librarian, too. Although I have played Transcend several times, it was too frustrating to loose three bases at a single turn to hordes of mindworms...
Never lost a transcend game either

I'm still at the talent level. I plan to stop spamming here so that I would actually have some time to play.

Two weeks sounds good. It will give me time to refresh my skills. I've been playing a lot of HoMM 2/3 the last several months and not SMAC.

 Not much in there.
I wouldn't mind joining but that one incident kind of turned me off IPing for a long, long time. Anyway, it seems that we have a well rounded team.

It's only one incident, you should try again.
And I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that you claim to play at librarian level when you post in nearly every thread in AC-Strategy.

Well.......when I play Transcend I tend to get frustrated. My progress in Transcend is pretty slow and I tend to get tired of the game. I was debating whether or not to click 'Librarian' or 'Thinker'. It also said regularly so it threw me off....I got mixed up on which one was more difficult (I haven't played for a while).
Anyway, I clicked Librarian cause I honestly only lasted through the game in Transcend to beat it once. I didn't know about things like the stockpile bug and popbooming bases until about a year ago here. That's my fault.
