I almost always win on trancend, and I am getting into the habit of playing with Iron man turned on, but multiplayer frustrates me. When ever I try to get a pbem going, they never seem to get off the ground

Hey can I join in the fun too? I've never played multiplayer before. I'll probably be eliminated by you guys pretty quickly but what the hxxk. It's the fun that's important isn't it? I only have limited time slot though, 9pm-12pm my time, so if you guys don't meet at these time then I'll have to pass this golden opportunity then.

Oh and I'm still working on getting the SMAC/X to work. But with the help of the Chairman himself, I hope it will be fixed eventually. It has to.

I'm sure someone will co-op with you HongHu, and aide you in the destruction of your fellow opponents.

That's a very encouraging thought. Even when I know that mostly this is just an attempt of probe under the disguise of friendship.

You are the only person that is still in denial if that's what you mean.

I'm running on Win XP with no problems (other than the interceptor scramble bug, which is wheelmouse related and not unique to XP)
Some others have problems loading the game, though, and there are several threads around the fixes (mostly sequence in installing the various patches, the no-cd crack and the .ini files)
If you have smax on your disc (but no cd) get the crack from here
and try replacing your alphacentauri.ini file with thie:

No. It's just that I don't see any difference before and after the extraction of the files.

Thanks GooglieGod! I'll try this.
(SMAC works just fine before and after like nothing really happened to it.)
