PTWDGII: Number of Teams?
The issue comes down to how many we can handle and how many active teams we can get going. This will just be an unofficial poll, since the beginning of the PTW DG was somewhat chaotic with Vox coming in late, having to change the results of the poll, etc.
A lot will depend on how many active teams are able to form. This is just to see what people would want ideally.

5 or 6.
This game's gonna be a MESS, so somewhere in the middle.
Like Eddie.

Re: PTWDGII: Number of Teams?
A bit early for this maybe. I thought the minimum 5 members before was too low. More interest needs to be drummed up.

Like I said, just an opinion poll.
This will just show what people want so we can get an idea of what we need. Some people expressed interest in a "smaller" game this time around, so this is their opportunity to say so.

Not the full 8, definetly. It would be fun just to have a chance to beat down on the AI...

Oh no, please no AI, afterall it supposed to be fun...

No opinion on how many teams, though it's gonna be hard to cramp 8 civs on a small (fast) map.

6 teams and no AI. We could have more teams if there's a huge surge in interest in the game. I'd like to see no more that 10 people on a team.

5 teams and no AI.
Of course, that depends on how many teams can find enough members.

The whole 8 in human teams. The game is more fun with more teams to interact with.

Well, I don't have a voice in this club since I'm not going to participate, but I feel the urge to chime my opinion in anyway. The AI is a huge fun killer in multiplayer games. They whore around techs and maps, while own research and exploration are two very important fields of competition in human vs human playing. This is negative and basically eliminates a big part of the fun. Additionally, the weakness of the AI makes it easy for their human neighbors to grow on its expense and those humans, who don't have AIs as neighbors will have a big disadvantage.
Don't even think about including AIs in this game.

8. It'll make for interesting diplomacy. That's assuming enough teams get large enough, of course.

That's my main concern; this is why I suggested 5 teams.

I agree we probably won't get 8, but Trip's first post says this is for the ideal number of teams; and if we actually got enough players, the full 8 would be fun.

5 or 6 teams would work the best, I believe. Too many and things would just start getting overly wacky.

It's not a mess, we're just bouncing ideas around. Nothing is concrete yet. 5 teams, that I know about, are being formed. You are free to start your own team; if you have a theme you'd like follow it will help people to decide on if they want to join your team.

From the Book of Izzard:
So! I didn't join the army, as you might have noticed... Yeah, ‘cause there's not much makeup in the army, is there? No? They only have that night-time look, and that's a bit slapdash, isn't it? And they look a mess!

I'd say eight!
If we can found so many teams and find enough players.
I have just decided to take part. It sounds like real fun.
I'll play for the Monty Python Team if they let me in.

Id like to point out we have eight teams exact... founded as of now.
Looks like 8 is the most popular on the poll as well, I dont see why we shouldnt go with 8.... assuming all teams can winenough interest and get enough members.

We'll take the most popular 8 teams, or perhaps less if some of the teams don't get at least 5 members.
We could possibly have more than 8 proposed teams, but that would mean that diferent team concepts would have to compete for members. Which is OK, makes them advertise and post more often.

Looks like most people want as many teams as possible. We'll leave the official results on this issue for another poll, since this one is only unofficial...
