Everyone Needs To See This: How To Drastially Improve Frame Rates
I got this from a BHG dev on rise of nation heaven.
The first time you start up RoN after a reboot/turn your comp on, close it.
Then start up RoN again and play like normal....... your FPS will be MUCH better for as long as you play-I went from 2-3 two minute plus lockups(fps of 0 or 1) per 10 minutes, to 1 "lockup" per hour(which lasted 1-3 seconds).
Apparently the first time you launch RoN per reboot it judges your system specs..... or something-I dont know, I just know it works, and works so well I was able to put my settings from low to high, without any FPS degredation!

I have noticed similar things with my system. It gives me a small FPS boost.

Is that sarcasm about something I dont know about windows? All I know is that it was unplayable on the lowest settings,, now im getting 40-50 FPS constantly with the highest settings!

I think Sava just wants more details, like an explanation of why it works.

Hya.
Yes! I was doing this at home and it always worked, but I thought it was only on my computer (because, you know, it's alive and it hates me!!!).
When I saw this thread I really really laughed! Now I know that my computer isn't the only living (or unliving) one!
See ya.

Exactly... no offense intended Vesayen, but I'm terribly cynical and skepticle about things I hear on an online gaming site.

I think there is something about this in the bug report threads.

Please quote the section you are talking about. Mine says nothing about closing the game and then reopening it.

NVIDIA GeForce: When using some GeForce drivers, you may experience significantly decreased game performance the first time the game is started after the computer has been restarted. If this occurs, exit the game by pressing ALT+F4, and then restart the game. After restarting once, the game should perform as usual until the next time the computer is restarted.

Does it matter if you exit using ALT-F4, or can you exit via the menu.
Also, do I have to start an actual battle first, or does that not matter?
